Cruisin' shave. Soap is one of the best OSP I've tried. Hoping this flavour will come to fruition in the future, attn @OSP.

It's on its way my friend!

After an hour and half sweating my bollocks off in the gym I needed a cooling shave!
Proraso Menthol Pre Shave
Nannys Signature Ice & Slice
RazorRock Barber Plissoft
Barbaros TR-1
Lab Blue [2]
Proraso Green AS
Beckham Instinct Sport EDT

Great Shave, I think the TR-1 is edging its way to the top of my DE tree... As efficient as the Weber but a smidgin smoother. And its oh so sexy! I'd forgotten just how good the Nannys Signature is too, great scent and cushion - could just do with the slickness of say Stirling and I'd never look at another soap!

SOTD - Tuesday
Soap: Catie's Bubbles "La Terre Verte"
Brush: Thäter 49125/1 24mm 3-band
Razor: Weber DLC
Blade: NOS Perma-Sharp (1)
Post: Thayer's witch hazel followed by Fine "Fresh Vetiver" ASL and a squirt of TF "Grey Vetiver"
First run with this Thäter 3-band. Very soft brush, pure luxury, but bordering on mop-ishness. Normally CB soaps are a little drying on my skin but not today oddly.
Very nice satisfying shave.

SotN
Shower
Proraso preshave for sensitive skin, something and oatmeal
Palmolive classic shave cream
Omega boar brush
Merkur 38C
Gillette seven o'clock yellow (2)

Loving the lather of Palmolive classic cream. CK Man is pretty good too.

I'm of to Belfast, NI tomorrow morning for a work related conference. Traveling shaving kit will be flung together in the morning. CK Man might make a late entry I tell ye hoi.

Tonights shave.

Tonights setup

Razor: ER 1914
Blade: ER Radio blade
Brush: Jayaruh #57
Soap: Haslinger Sandalwood
AS: AV Classic Blue Ice

Tonight I used the 1914 with the Radio blade I stropped up on my GEM Automatic Stropper. The first 2 passes were pretty smooth. My third pass I could detect that it was not quite as sharp. It was not buggy at all, but I could feel it degrading. This was the cruddiest blade I have. I will give it some more love on the strops. Hopefully it will get better. I know I will need to learn the proper way to use the strop. That is part of the fun.

Anyhow got a DFS shave with it and no irritation. So I am a happy camper.

Smashing setup, there.

Good to hear reasonable results from this old blade. Such blades in better initial condition quite literally are sheer heaven! I've enjoyed a really good original Damaskeene blade and it just got better and better - it mellowed well and by the third shave was delivering really smooth shaves so absolutely unlike anything available today.

With your better examples I'm sure you'll enjoy these blades more.

How many laps are you doing? I went with 100 initially and then 50 between shaves with that Damaskeene blade I mentioned. I also have one like you showed us here waiting in the wings, a '20s GEM blade and a few Duridiums from the '60s. Oh, and another box fresh Damaskeene blade, not to mention the other Damaskeene blade which still has a lot of life left.

12th April 2016

Bulldog Shower Gel
Habitat Shaving Soap (Vintage)
Semogue Owner's Club Boar in Ash
Face Lathered
GEM Micromatic (Later Version) & GEM Stainless (1)
Single Pass - WTG (Slide)

SOTD%2B12-04-2016%2BFotor.jpg

Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse & Alum Wash
Witch Hazel Toner
Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel Aftershave & EDT
Pinaud Eau de Portugal Hair Tonic

While the original Micromatic with the flat base plate is an aggressive razor, the revised version with nubs on the base plate is not - it is a good way of bringing in a fresh blade, giving a mild and forgiving shave, restraining the searing freshness of the edge.

Habitat soap is a fun one. Like an old-fashioned version of the L'Occitane bowl, the soap inside has a clean, fresh, zesty note even today. I'm guessing '80s vintage.

I did probably 50 laps on the pasted strop, and 25 on the unpasted. I think I will do that again to see if it will get a bit better. Once i get it tuned up, i will stick with the unpasted with 30 laps before and after.

Fatip Grande, Astra SP (4), Silvertip, Crabtree & Evelyn Indian Sandalwood Cream and Balm

I've been really into face lathering soaps with boar brushes recently and this poor Silvertip badger has been looking at me sadly from my brush shelf.
Decided I'd give it a whirl with some cream today. Face lathered, lots of lather for three passes. Lovely shave. Still prefer the feel of a boar brush but it was a nice change of pace. Definitely going to make it a regular in the rotation.
