Does anyone rinse after each pass?

I used to do that, then I too realised that there was no point in doing so (leaving the faucet running).

I lather up and when I remove all the lather from my face, I dip my blade in a mug of cold water and remove for the next pass. I may have to swish the blade around a bit, but it works and all I use regarding water is a single mug.

Yeah, just a quick splash with clean warm water to help soften the stubble and remove any residual cut hairs. Also aids the slickness. Helps me feel any missed areas too. I get irritation from some soap if I don't do it.

I do, probably because I saw someone do it in a Youtube video when first starting out. Never really thought about it until reading this thread. I use it as an opportunity to check out what I have missed, or where needs more attention. I guess a tactile opportunity.

I do. No explanation as to why, but I do. I guess to wash away any hairs from each pass, and to check my progress. Doesn't seem to hurt me at all, but maybe I should try without and see what I think?

You may find Dry Shaving easier. If you have the intonation to try, and before you get use to it: shower, dry your face well, and with a new blade in your DE razor start with an WTG pass, followed by a XTG ( if needed.). Finish with a nice alcohol based AfterShave.
In a rush skip the shower and just Dry Shave.

Yeah, I do and on occasion if using a soap that isn't that slick I reapply a small amount of shave oil to help the second pass that is certainly going to be closer than the first.
