Tues 26th July
Omega 11126 Boar
La Toja cream
Gem Junior Bar - Lather Catcher
Gem S/S [ 6 ] + 1/2 Spine Shim
Alum Rub/Rinse Off
La Toja A/S

Broke my new rule of 4 blade uses and now up to 6. Chose today a Gem Junior Bar which was designed for use with Wedge Blades , but a modern blade does fit. With the Gem blade easily fitted I also used a 1/2 spine shim [ a full spine shim may be better ].
The Shave was not bad, the Razor was mild and forgiving and I was able with a number of polishing passes to get a more than passable close shave. Whilst an acceptable shave , this razor is not in my Top 10- though feel sure if used with the original blade it would be much better.

tuesday's shave..jpg
  • Tuesday's Shaving Recipe.
  • warm shower / Wingman (Charge) Wash multi gel/ warm wet flannel to my face.
  • Razor: Parker:24C.
  • Blade:Astra superior stainless (2)
  • Brush:Wilkinson Sword Pure Bristle.
  • Soap:Grated Palmolive shaving sticks in ceramic bowl +4 drops of glycerin in mixing bowl.
  • Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.
  • Witch Hazel.
  • A/S Boots Freshwood.
  • Post: Boots Freshwood aftershave balm.
  • Another wonderful shave with my new 24C, i thought it would have taken me a while to get familiar with her, but i've taken to her instantly, Astra blades are excellent value, i've only ever tried the Astra SP's but the SS are equally as good..the grated down palmolive sticks never let me down, a great protected slickness to help my smooth shave...enjoy your day.

2 days growth...Lazy Monday!
Warm shower
pre shave with Myrsol Emulsion
Saponifico Veresino Dolomiti Black edition (still my sample from shavedash 6th shave)
TI black straight razor for cheeks, neck and jaw
ATT S1 loaded with a Shark blade to finish off
Thayers Witchhazel (rose scent)
Prorazo protective balm to finish 30 mins of shaving.

Lovely shave today, slowly getting the feel of using a straight, and for some reason I am getting a better feeling than my Kai captain loaded with a Feather pro.

Cool and green today...

Musgo Real Glyce soap wash
Myrsol Emulsion pre-shave
Denali with Razorock Plissoft
Braveheart/EJ89 Hybrid + Voskhod (1)
Rinse and Alum
Wrights Coal Tar cold water wash
Alcolado glacial splash
Proraso Green (Menthol and Eucalyptus) balm

shave.jpg

Second shave with Denali and it's really nice soap - I let it soak in hot water for a while, drained it and used a damp brush (most of the water squeezed out) ...it loaded with a ridiculous amount of soap in just a few seconds...I need to be a little more conservative or this pot won't last me long!

Alcolado Glacial is indeed great stuff. I have visited the factory in the Caribbean. My mum used it a lot to cool down when living in the Caribbean. It's also works good against mosquitos.
