Place the brush on its side on a wire shelf. Once dry I stand it upright. Have ~dozen brushes that I alternate.

I like my brushes on a nice stand to show them off. A damn good flick off and a quick wipe on the towel is good enough to dry it though. I have an Omega which holds a brush and razor and it looks the bees knees. This isn't mine but you get the picture.

I have a shiny chrome brush and razor stand I keep on the bathroom vanity top. After use I hang that day's brush and razor for no other reason than it looks good. No need to hang a brush to dry.

What is a practical purposes?

One of my earlier setups had very little room, so I found it useful to have a stand with combined razor and brush holder.

I use the complimentary one which arrived with some brush many, many years ago. It's just a handy space saver to me and I wouldn't spend money on one. My fave Vie Long works just fine with or without the stand.

Im afraid im old school and do use razor stands, which in the case of my synthetic brushes, is not necessary.
