SOTD : Saturday 3rd February - Friday 9th February 2018.

Evening C. - if you enjoyed the Musgo Real soap as a pre-shave - you should try - if you haven't already - La Toja Magno - similarly glycerin based and a fraction of the cost. You can get it from Gemstone Trading for buttons. It is quite heavily scented so it might depend on whether you take to that or not. I've used both and they are equal in performance. It's my go to prep/shower soap. Cheers - I.

@Digimonkey

Ian, thanks - I will get some La Toja Magno ordered - always good to try something new, especially with a solid recommendation!

I tried the La Toja shave stick several months ago when I ordered a Rocnel-GEM, it came as a sample, and I was most impressed.

All the best,

Chris

Prep ~ Shower, Birch Tar Soap
Razor ~ Ever-Ready 1914, Brass
Blade ~ Gem SS Coated (shimmed)
Soap ~ Grooming Dept ~ After The Fire
Brush ~ Omega Badger
Post ~ BBA Post Shave Balm
Scent ~ Guerlain Jicky EDP

Big thanks going out to @Benz3ne who did a fantastic job in stripping the Nickel off this razor leaving behind the Brass base metal and then polishing it to perfection. Thank you Ben, you're my number one stripper! :) P.
The shave was as brilliant as the shine on the razor, the soap from GD is as slick as frozen pond and the razor was as good as an ER 1912 for performance and handling.
I was left smooth skinned and after a spray or two of Jicky I was smelling fabulous.

Wishing you all a great day.........:) P.

Simpsons Milk Churn
Gillette Fat Boy
Treet Falcon (1)
Dusy Klar Kabinett
Alum Block, BBA Post ShaveBalm & L'eau Majeure d'Issey

A great post haircut shave today. First time trying a Treet Falcon blade and of the four Treet blades I have tried, this is by far the best based on initial impressions. Maybe a potential bulk buy in the future. The Milk Churn and Klar are like strawberries and cream, a perfect complement to each other.

Tue 6th Feb

RazoRock Plissoft 24mm
OSP Bay Rum
Supply SE V1/ V2 No 3 Plate
Schick Proline [ 7 ]
Pitranol Original A/S Lotion

Since having beefed up my Supply V1 with a V2 No3 aggressive plate, I have had 7 consecutive Shaves. In its original form it was too mild for my " Tough needs a Shave Daily" beard.

Now I find that this Aggressive plate performs really well. Every Shave I have had with a Proline onboard has been very smooth, with a great blade feel throughout the Shave which allows you to assess its progress. I find it very forgiving and can use it with precision to get rid of stubborn areas of growth, particularly good around the Chin. For me just right !.

Is It worth It ? not as expensive as the High End S/S AC/SE and has a smaller head. IMHO
the quality and consisentcy of Shave, is better than I get with my favourite Injectors [ single
blade use only] such as the E2 & the PAL Injecto Matic and S/S Adjustable. Certainly a great Daily Shaver and would suit those with a sensitive skin. I have yet to try it with a Personna blade, which is recommended by Supply. I may well try it as a Travel Razor around UK, fits really well in my leather razor cases:).
