First use of the Dart for me in a good few months & still i’m feeling it rough.
I took my time with every stroke yet still 4 weepers, and all the weepers were from xtg
perhaps that’s telling me a story.
I was concentrating with every stroke like my life depended on it but still weepers.
I actually know i’m doing it.
Twice i just touched my face with the razor slightly heavier than normal & bang a weeper.
I might put this one away for a rainy day,
No to hang with it i’ll give it another go soon.
The Soap was absolutely top drawer & the first goats milk soap base iv tried.
For my own sort of made up records i tried to criticise the soap, i sort of wanted something not to be right
weird i know but that’s me,
Got to tell it how it is right or there’s just no point.
Anyway they more i tried i couldn’t find a single fault,
From the amount of soap you need to the performance & scent the packaging were just too drawer.
I got this as freebie from Brian after a purchase to have a go at the goats milk & Brian i can’t thank you enough.
You really do have one of the highest end products out there without the price tag.
Once i get home from Norway i reckon i need a few more including splashes.
the mix and match i used today just doesn’t go really but hey sometimes we just have to make do.
Overall although i had 4 weepers it was still a class shave with great products.
Onwards & Upwards

Boys & Girls
Thank you Mike for your kind words. I’m now rushing to laptop to treble price so I can price accordingly!!! If only! To be honest I don’t know how some artisans can justify the £45 price tags, considering the base ingredients are more or less the same for most soaps and the “next best fashionable ingredients” don’t cost a fortune when used in the tiny quantities that are added.

mange takk
Brian

Greetings,

Early morning shave.

I haven't used the clubman Pinaud soap for a while and forgot how much a great in-expensive soap this is.. This is almost 'croap-like' soap it doesn't need blooming before mixing providing a slick protective lather, in no time, i like the scent too, it's not over powering, and the post shave feel is incredibly good. What more can I say? apart from it's a great inexpensive shaving soap.

Being on a budget the vast majority of my shave set ups are very inexpensive, it just goes to show you don't need to pay extortionate prices for 'Super-Dooper' artisan shaving soaps/creams when they are plenty of perfectly good shaving products on offer that are equally as good if sometimes better at a fraction of the price.

The Club Pinaud soap is just one of many...As always it's down to individual choice what people buy & use...YMMV.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Brush: PAA Switchback Oumo Silk HMW
Soap: Stirling Ramblin' Man
Razor: Blackland Blackbird
Blade: GSB (1)
Post: Stirling Ramblin' Man AS & EDT

Decent shave again this morning, effortless with the blackbird and a mass of lather from the silk. If you want backbone stay well away from this knot in this handle, it's good if you want massive splay or just don't feel like mashing a dry broom in your face so it has its place. If I want backbone with this handle I just switch out for the AP Bulb and there you have it.

Very good finish, nice and smooth rounded off well with the Stirling EDT, nice smell on it with decent longevity.

Hope everyone has a cracking day!

Cheers

Marc

Loaded the brush for 1 minute then applied straight to stubble. 3 pass shave for an absolutely top notch bbs finish. I can't fault the Gilette Silver Blue blades : they're my favourite by a country mile. Have a good day everyone.

Tue 12th April

Omega 11126 boar
Hampshire Wool Fat soap
RR Hawk V3- A Plate
Feather Pro ( 1 )
GB Grey Flannel A/S Lotion

Until recently I had never got the best results with a Feather Pro Blade, then I had to try it in my original Claymore Evolution and was impressed.Due a blade change in The Hawk, I decided to try out a Feather Pro, which proved a good choice. The Shave was smooth and comfortable throughout, and the finish quality Top Notch.A good result as I have as I brought some of these blades at a reasonable price.

My next shave is going to be a good one, as it will include a new soap, and one from The Netherlands!

De Vergulde Hand - the gilded hand - is a well known Dutch shaving soap that I’ve been looking to try for a long time. It’s easily available online but thanks to the cretinous idea that is Brexit, shipping costs for a small tub of soap from The Netherlands can cost upwards of £30!

However, I managed to find a seller on Amazon who was not charging the earth and I’ve just taken delivery. It’s a lovely fresh, lightly scented soap - the nearest I have to it is the LEA shave stick and that’s a good thing.

So my next shave will be with my Rex Envoy, a Personna Med Prep blade again, as the result last time was so good and I may dig out the Aqua Velva Musk as the aftershave, that depends on how the shave goes, especially how the lather smells.

Razor: Rex Envoy
Blade: Personna Med Prep (3)
Soap: De Vergulde Hand
Brush: Simpsons The Duke
Pre-shave: Proraso Green
Post-shave: Aqua Velva Musk
Bowl: Face lather

EDIT:
Well that was a very enjoyable shave. The blade was end of life but I still managed a face stroking shave. The soap does not have a strong scent but it lathered really with in the Best Badger and I came away BBS. I did go for the Aqua Velva Musk, and only experienced a mild burn, so there was no over-shaving. I'll try a different blade for my next Envoy experiment. :)

Thanks Richard. Love the way you create the ice cream like lather in the brush, it’s a work of art!
