New Maseto brush

I know you like the TGN, but do tell ,don't leave us hanging.
They are both 2 band finest but there are differences. I lathered up both brushes with OSP Spice Road soap and used them on different sides of my mug. The Maseto is definitely a paint brush. It is softer than the TGN and doesn't like big circular strokes it likes paint strokes. I could scrub better with the TGN and it paints as well as the Maseto. The Maseto hogs it's lather more than the TGN which gives up the lather freely. If I didn't have the TGN I would have loved the Maseto it looks better than the TGN and is softer but it is just edged by the TGN. There isn't much in it only the scrubbing the TGN allows and better lather flow separates the two. I'd say 90 to 100 for the TGN.

Thanks for your thoughts on both of the brushes Wayne.

Firstly, apologies for bumping an old thread. I've been anticipating pay-day so I can go ahead and see what these brushes are all about! I'm only familiar with synthetic brushes, having only owned two brushes in my lifetime, so wish to pose these questions;

What is the main, notable differences between a finest badger and a silvertip brush? Why would someone favour one over another?

I'm aware these are fairly subjective, especially the latter question but I'd like to know before forking out the money - is the £10 difference really worth it?

Thanks in advance you clean, clean gents.

Hi. The differences are in the feel and floppiness of the knot. Both knots are soft on the face but Silvertip is noticeably softer. Two band finest has more body to the hairs making it a little better for hard soaps and for scrubbing on the beard when lathering on the face. Both are good but if you want the softness of a synthetic then you will prefer the Silvertip.

That's absolutely great, thanks for the detailed response Mr Wayne! To be honest, the Body Shop synthetic I started out with had a lot of scratch/scritch to it, to the point I was astonished by the RazoRock synthetic. They're like chalk vs cheese in 'softness' on the case. I'll deliberate a little further on which one to plumb for...
