Interesting.....maybe it was a home done thing , the first black knob I've seen . P.
Nope, not just me.

Looks like the bottom knob came off a aluminium set then....Maybe?
Possible. Not enough photos out there to say for sure. Thing is, it's not aluminum, in fact it's .7g heavier than the knob/spindle in my unmarked one.

History of these is woefully undocumented, at least in English.

I have not read the entire thread but there is a pretty good discussion here:

The punch under discussion there is on Amazon.

Thank you all for all the great info, now I have to have one.
You must, they are fantastic little razors, so smooth but efficant enough to suit most people, the French Ebay is the best place to try, sometimes it will say they won't post outside of France but I have found that a chat to the seller usely does the trick. Make sure the black plastic handle has no cracking at the top or bottom, the only weak point on the razor but is ok as long as it's not over tightened.
Good luck with your quest to track a good one down, expect to pay £30-50 depending on if it's boxed or not and condition. :)

Thank you Blademonkey, you have been of invaluable assistance to me on several occasions so far and I feel indebted to you.
I found one and already asked about the handle. I only hope the seller will answer my questions and post to Cyprus. Then I'll figure out a way to punch the feathers to fit.

I've just received an answer, it is steel and bakelite handle claimed to be in perfect condition.

To be on the safe side, I found another one without the box but in good condition. There is a picture of the dismantled handle and looks in good order, no cracks. On both of them the guard looks straight.
