Hi. I dont know whether the original statement of "no newbies" still applies but I would definitely like a go as I was considering buying one just to try but prices on the bay are insane.

First shave was promising! Razorock Big Bruce, gentlemen's face care club cream and a new feather blade.

Three pass (settings 1, 3, 5) with touch ups (setting 4) left me with one cut which was my own fault and a fairly good result. Not as close and smooth as my Futur, but I've had a fair bit of practise with that one so a bit unfair competition at the moment.

Second shave planned tomorrow morning!
 
Second shave update: better, four passes (settings 2, 4, 6, 6) gave me quite a close shave. Forgot I don't have my Astra's in the UK and don't really want to travel with the fatboy so will have to do with some other blades to test it's performance over the next couple of shaves and try the higher settings (7 and up).

Hi everyone!

Been offline for a bit because of my wedding week last week. I'll give it a couple more shaves this week and be ready to pass the fatboy on next week to @mattprince!

Special thanks to @Wayne Pritchard for sending me a very generous amount of blades when I was running a bit low on blades myself.

So far I've found the fatboy works best for me with a fresh astra on setting 9. Even at that setting its very forgiving and perfect for an early morning (read 4 am) shave unlike my Futur but if I have and take the time I get closer results with the Futur.
 
And the Fatboy is on the road again, on it's way to @mattprince now.

Thanks @dodgy for making this piece of shaving history available to try, thanks @riverrun for keeping this pass around alive and thanks @Wayne Pritchard for sending me the blades to try out when I was a bit low on them!

Found that using an Astra on setting 9 for a three pass with touch ups left me with a smooth DFS, no irritation whatsoever.

Not as close a shave as my Futur but that gives me irritation if I aim for super close every day.

All in all a great experience!

Just to confirm I have received the Fatboy today. Will have a few shaves with it , trying out a few blades and then will pass it on to Dansco who is next on the list.

Don't rush Matt, I think I may take my name of the list. I ended up acquiring a slim anyway and I feel far less need to try a fatboy now

Hahaha that made me laugh, sorry about that but I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did ;)

And @Dansco please give it a try and let us (me!) know how it compares to the slim!
