Blade: Gem#2
Razor: Gem MM OC
Straight: Friodur 6/8 (I think:)) On Loan
Soap: ScheerMonnik
Brush: Razorock 400 Alu.
Post: Thayers Witch Hazel
EDT: L'Occitaine Cade

This was my #25 shave with a straight razor. I achieved one pass with the grain on my cheeks and neck and I am pleased to report no blood was lost. :)
Finished my shave with 2 further passes using the Gem MM OC. I really am finding this razor a beautiful piece of kit. BBS

The soap has a wonderful cushion and slickness but I am still not sure on the scent. I want to give it one more try before I pass it on. Thank you @nick_s and Shave Station for organising this.

Razorock 400 synth is superb for face lathering. Finished off with the some Thayers and Cade EDT.

Enjoy your shaves! :)
Wayne.

Greetings All,

Wednesday shave.

One days' growth and warm shave

Preparation – shower and face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)

Pre: None
Soap: P&B Spitfire
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Polsilver (3rd)
Brush: RazoRock 400 Noir (Face lather)

Post Shave: Cold water rinse, shower, then Proraso aftershave lotion (red) and Nivea 2 phase.

So my Merkur 34c / Polsilver blade / P&B Spitfire - what can go wrong? Lovely shave this morning :D

Cheers

Brian

So bought the Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary soap as a treat for my new Omega 641 brush first lather. Question to peeps who have this soap, do you lather in the tin? If you do, do you remove to dry after use?

I will probably be doing this lather / shave on Saturday as still trying to get rid of the brush's funky smell

Thanks,

Brian

9 AD Teutoburg Forest, when we Germans exceptionally were also one of the Goodies in world history. ;):)

I have watched this fascinating documentary on Youtube. Another of my interests - Roman history. The Teutoburg disaster caused panic in Rome as they had lost something like 10% of the legions. The situation was worse for the Rhine defences as the legions there were cut in half. Depending on your point of view that is either a good or a bad thing. ;)

I love the ancient Roman art and architecture and today`s Italian livestyle. Wished I was born as Italian in the capital city Rome. ;):)
But at this time back in history Romans were just conqueror and exploiter. Yes, they brought us urban cultur, but for what price?

Hello Brian

I lather the 70th in the tin then after my shave I'll run cold water over the soap to get the excess lather off, then leave it to dry before putting the lid back on.

Evening gentlemen,
Well I surpassed myself tonight with my complete recklessness with a razor!
I genuinely have a pool of blood in my right ear lobe??? Chin several good nicks, pouring blood from just under my nose.
Did not feel any of these happen, so the Gillette silver blue ss must be sharp?
Anyway, first use of the tobs jermyn street cream, lovely stuff, abundant lather, gorgeous aroma, can't rate highly enough.
The floid preshave I was so lucky to acquire as a pif, feels quite good, not as good a job as executive shaves pre shave, and boy does it smell funky! Really could not put my finger on what the smell reminds me of, but weird comes to mind. :)
The blood flow seems to be slowing now.
So, an enjoyable shave, and thorough, albeit bloody.
Mule r89
Gillette silver blue blade #2 and last
Floid pre shave
Tobs jermyn street soap
Razorock 400 brush
Dolce and gabanna underarm
Atkinson's triple extract.

I love the Romans Go Home sketch from the movie.

Earlier in the year I visited friends who had moved to Shropshire. Saturday afternoon we went to the ancient Roman city of Wroxeter - most still underground but you can look at the ruins of the bath house and a replica town house. My souvenir was a replica centurions helmet.

What is now modern Scotland was about to become a province in the late 1st century AD when the Romans left for the first time. Problems elsewhere in the empire. We Scots like to think we were just too much trouble for them. :)
