Sudsy Soapery

I recently received a boatload of samples from this artisan vegan soap maker, however I have only shaved twice with two different ones. It is unlike any soap I have used before and the "jury" is still out, so to speak. After doing a search here I see a few here have used it before and I would appreciate your opinions as I am a fervent member of the tallow "Taliban", to quote Antdad. ;)

I own one of their soaps (lavender and peppermint), and although I too am a fan of the tallow, it's a very good soap.
Good scent, cushion and slickness, what more could you ask for?
Well, it could look a bit less like concrete mixed with putty :D

Yes, three shaves in and it is a very, very good soap. I noticed that it doesn't like water near as much as a tallow soap and that seems to be the secret to it.

I have a couple & rate them.
I tend to prefer hard tallow soaps;
Lea classic, fine, haslinger & tabac.

Sudsy soapery are just as good & the scents are terrific. The peppermint one I have is really refreshing, post shave feel is excellent.
Makes a nice change, like all soaps, I find it takes ~week of use to learn how to get the best out of them

I face lather with a barely damp brush on a damp face, and that seems to be all the water it requires.

Ditto.

With this soap, yes. It is very, very different and in an excellent way if I may add. It is just so "botanical" in its appearance, makeup & feel, for lack of a better word.

On another famous forum one devoted soap addict (states he's tried over 500!! :eek: ) has made it his No. 2 favorite behind PannaCrema. I will link the thread from "over there" for you people to peruse, but be forewarned that after a page or two you will be overwhelmed with urges to buy more shave soaps!! ;)

I have two, Lavender & Peppermint, and Citrus & Bay. Although I generally prefer tallow, this is one of the few exceptions. The Sudsy Citrus & Bay is actually one of my favorites. Excels in everything, but the post shave... well, the post shave is just superb, the best I have ever tried.

I was going to buy until they quoted 35 dollars for shipping. All I got out of it was endless email bombardments lol. Shame it sounds like a good soap but too many good uns here to pay that price.

After much more usage I am totally inclined to agree that this is one of the best soaps I have ever used, bar none. Although it is not tallow and full of various "butters" it flat out works. Here's the basic ingredient list:

Saponified Stearic Acid, Coconut Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Castor Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Cocoa Butter, Theobroma Cocoa (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Kokum Butter, Garcinia Indica Seed Butter, Shea Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii, Lanolin Anhydrous, USP. with Cambrian (Russian) Blue Clay, Glycerin vegetable, USP, Sodium Lactate, 100% Pure Essential Oils, Bentonite Clay.

There is absolutely zero blade "drag" with this soap using a top tier blade. None. Nada. Nichts. It's as if you are running your razor against glass lubed with Teflon. As Nalves above pointed out the after shave face feel is unsurpassed for those of you who look for this in a soap. The scents are strong on some and not so on others. If I had to buy a tub it would be the Lavender & Peppermint. You NEED this soap. ;)
