Muhle R41 Grande (2011 Version) - The most aggressive razor?

Hi,

I've just purchased Muhle R41 Grande (2011 Version), I heard that it's the most aggressive razor, which gives the closest shave besides, using Feather blades with it, but there is a more aggressive one which is the iKon Tech, but unfortunately it's very rare and I could't find one on Amazon or ebay.

My question is: is there a way to make the Muhle R41 Grande (2011 Model) more aggressive?

What's the most aggressive DE razor out there? Merkur Futur or Muhle R41 or iKon Tech or what?

I bought it for 74$ + Free shipping.

I can't understand why you would want to make what is an challanging razor even more so but if you was to use a Kia stainless blade in it which would give you slightly more blade exposure that would do what you are seeking however I'm not recommending it, ive shaved with this razor and the slightest lapse in concentration or too much pressure will see you reaching for the alum stick.

is the grande version a 2011 model? the seller says it's 2013. As I know Grande is 2011 model right?

The R41 sure is a bit of a beastie. Paired with any half decent blade it'll give a very good shave. I find myself holding my breath when using it, (it helps me concentrate). Mows through three days growth with ease and a simple 2 pass gives me a superb shave. It demands respect.

No, the grande was one of the 2013 models, if the seller is telling you it's a 2013 model then that is what it is. A 2011 model would cost a lot more than a 2013 model because of its reputation as really agressive razor that some people seem to like.

If I remember correctly the top cap is wider on the 2013 giving the razor less blade exposure and risk for blade flex aiming for a more predictable shave. Never actually tested the 2011 myself but the 2013 is my favourite DE.

You are absolutely correct about the cap size differences and the base plate was a different size also, shorter in length. P.
