SOTD . SATURDAY 21st JULY - FRIDAY 27th JULY 2018.

Pre: Glyce Original
Razor: Wilkinson Sword classic
Blade: Pol Silver SI
Brush: PAA Green Ray
Soap: Norse Bergamot
Post: Stirling MITA witch hazel

So I have used the razor several times now. The Wilson Sword blades are awful in it. The razor works great with and across the grain, but it feels jittery against which does not inspire confidence.

It is a great shaver for the likes of holiday or a quick morning whip around. But for a long shave it would not be my first choice. The Wilson Sword blades work great in an EJ DE89 though.

HEAD SOTD 23JULY 2018

SOAP: MWF
BRUSH: Razorock 400
RAZOR(S): Rockwell 6S (4/3) / Feather MR3
BLADE(S): Gillette Wilkinson Sword (3) / Feather FII Neo cartridge
POST: DIY Witch hazel / aloe vera mix& Billy In The Tree Pure Argan Oil with Cedarwood, Fir needle, Orange & Lavender

Lathered the hell out of my MWF puck and got a rich, creamy lather. The Rockwell made short work of 6 days growth on the head and the Feather razor/cartridge combo cleaned up nicely - probably the best head shave I've had to date. My first use of the two blade cartridge in the MR3 handle, but as blades go, these seem to be very good and could be keepers for head shaving with.

Prep: Face wash
Brush: Yaqi Black Marble Tuxedo
Bowl: Executive Shaving Handmade
Razor: EJ Black Chrome 3D Diamond
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Cream: Truefitt & Hill West Indian Limes
Post: Barts Balm ASB Lime Oil

First use of the T&H cream beyond samples, felt draggy even though it was a fresh blade. Almost like the cream not slick enough, even though I seemed to have a decent lather. Will have to keep an eye on this. Nice to be back on the GSB, last shave with 7 O'Clock Green left my face sore for about 3 hours after. Burn kicked in and stayed for some time. I didn't even do an ATG pass. Results seem ok and face feels fine. Just can't pinpoint what the drag was all about

I also get this on occasion with creams, Dave. What I have found is that, even though the lather looks good, it needs a little more water and elbow grease with the brush to "release" the slickness.

Brut~ Attraction totale A/S Lotion.

Greetings,

it's been a while since i last used the nivea Men body shaving stick today instead of my recent spate of bowl lathering, i've face lathered instead which created a equally good lather.

Third shave with the personna Gem PTFE coated blade and it's still efficiently smooth showing no signs of dragging or pulling, these blades are very impressive.

The ER 1912. performance was sublime, leaving my face feeling silky smooth shave in 3 passes & error free. What more could i ask for.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Brut~ Attraction totale A/S Lotion.

My face is feeling smooth refreshed, & smelling devine.;)

Razor: Paradigm Ti II
Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium (3)
Brush: Artesania Romera 'Stereo' Manchurian
Soap: Tallow + Steel 'Maya'

My first go with the Paradigm Ti II and I was very impressed. There was zero blade feel and yet you can easily hear the razor destroying any kind of facial growth with an efficiency that rivals the finest shavers out there. I appreciate very much how smooth and efficient it is yet it's way too light for me at 65 grams. Even so, I'll enjoy it for another couple of shaves. Thank you, Alex for hooking me up, you're a great friend!

Bring back real sweets!

Top shelf - Muhle R89/Colossus/Polsilver Lodz
Middle shelf - Muhle Synthetic Butterscotch
Lower shelf - Gentlemen's Tonic cream
Out of date confectionary shelf - L'Occitane Cade

Sherbet66's recent thread (https://theshavingroom.co.uk/community/index.php?threads/muhle-r89-grande-closed-comb.47851/) got me thinking that it was some time since I last went 89. Being at my father's place for a visit gave me the opportunity to get away from my daily choice of a Timeless (away at work choice) and whip an 89 over my face (to those practicing S&M, it is a pleasure).

The Gentlemen's Tonic as I am utterly unoriginal and also very depleted of alternatives while away on the boats. Other than that, it is good. Muhle Butterscotch for the same reasons. Plus it does a great job of lathering up the cream.

I have always loved the 89 and continue to do so but I do think it benefits from the sharpest blade you can throw in between the plates. To this extent it is one razor where I still favour a Feather blade. The Lodz does work wonders but a Feather seems to give an overall more satisfactory finish. Saying that I returned to the ship closely shaven and feeling far better than the few days of growth I'd accumulated through being in a 'not bothered' mood.

Feeling good and smoother than Chasey Lane's bottom on this occasion
