2017 i was meant to relax with my spending on shaving goods.....
Well, that went out the window......[emoji57]

New razorock brush, Merkur progress and two new soaps.

This rabbit hole keeps getting deeper!

Does it ever end ?? [emoji1][emoji1]

Absolutely Aaron, after the initial trial of what's out there you'll settle down into a more settled routine of the kit which suits you and you'll ( hopefully ) just make individual purchases of items which arouse your interest and are affordable. Of course, just how copious your ' basic ' kit becomes and how often you fancy trialling something new will vary ...

One soap about to go straight in the bin today!!
Razor burn, irritation and a nick....[emoji37] not happy at all with Osma soap. Face feels so tight, dry and irritated.

the rabbit hole can be expensive at face value, but the idea of using as a way to get items for trading purposes just makes it worse.

why? to get things "worth trading" in other peoples views, you need to get expensive things they wouldn't buy at full price. It kind of hurts oneself to simply say "I might not like it, so I need to get this 40$ soap or cream simply because ill be able to trade it off better then if I got a 10-15$ soap"

simplified to "I must buy the 40$ limited edition soap from X soaps, because if I don't like it, I can trade it off for a pack of Gillette silver blues, but if I get a 10-15$ tin of pre de provence, I most likely wont get more then a pack of shark or derby for it in trade"

I have a way around this. Buy one razor it will last you a lifetime, only buy a soap when you've finished another, one good synthetic brush will last you years, just use your favourite blade then buy only that blade, aftershave and balm like the soap use until finished,

I successfully failed miserably so don't listen to anything I've said nor have to say in the future, basically pretend this post never even existed.

Good luck and goodnight.

We are all here to save money aren't we?? That's what I told my lovely wife when I started. Now my bathroom shelf is bigger than hers but I still refuse to admit I have a problem. Damn you triple milled soap and badger brush, I would save hundreds using Mach 3 carts and canned shaving gel!
