    " Could I just ask ."...

And then they wonder why so many of us buy online. Maybe if you just had a short and polite conversation with us instead of trying to sell us crap we don't want or need we'd visit your store more often.

Thanks, will seek out those and give them a try.

What does your other half think of your shaving hobby?

My wife pinches my son's twin blade disposables and leaves my 'real' stuff alone. She's happy enough with me buying creams and smellies, even buying some for me herself for my birthday etc. The only time I get an adverse comment, 'you look like a f' kin' gooseberry', is when I have the odd...

    Musgo Real substitute?

Birthday is coming up soon and I'm hoping to have a few quid to spend on nice stuff. Is there anything anyone can recommend similar to Musgo Real original? Preferably something that lasts a bit, please.

    Old dog, new tricks

Isn't that supposed to be bad luck, like opening a brolly indoors or placing shoes on a table?

    Old dog, new tricks

I've always face lathered because that's the way I learned. Recently my son got me a present of a shaving stand set, with badger brush, bowl and razor holder. I decided to give the bowl a go and found I preferred the lather I get using it. Just shows you're never too old to try something new.

    Pre digital photography

For me the most fun, especially when I started up, was waiting for the photos to come back from the lab and ripping open the package to see if I'd got 24 prints out of my 24 exposure film. It was only when I got a 100% hit rate on a regular basis that I considered myself a 'real' photographer

    Looking for advise

So's my D200, but it still takes great photos, and it's rugged as hell. I'll probably die before it does

    Hai Karate - Availabilty

The Original Factory Shop has it fairly often. None in at the minute but if you want something else from the same era they have Blue Stratos

That's good kit and will get the sort of photos you want. I have an ancient Nikon D200 that's still going strong. I just have one photo tip for you, and it's a cliché - the best camera is always the one you have with you. Have fun with your camera.

How do you listen to your music?

Streaming, radio, mp3 player, cd player/hi-fi system? I've recently decluttered all my old gear. The record deck, CD player and amp are all tucked away safely in my roof space for the antiques roadshow to find in 50 years. My LPs and CDs are now all copied digitally, stored on a 6TB hard drive...

    Rookie mistake

I ironed once when my wife was in hospital having our first sprog. At the time I thought I was doing the right thing. She made it clear that I was never under any circumstances to go near the iron again so now, twenty-one years on, I still don't. We have an agreement - she doesn't touch my...

    No more shaving!

I don't have any soaps but I do have a few creams, which I prefer to soap. My daily use one is Real Shaving Co. which is unscented but for a treat or special occasion I bring out the tubs of scented

    Rookie mistake

Last night I nicked my fingers trying to catch my dropped razor. I normally use Real Shaving Co. cream, with a brush, but I was all out and had to use the RSC gel instead. The gel goes on better without a brush, but leaves your hands slippery, something I'd forgotten. Razor drops, I catch...

    No more shaving!

That's exactly my take on it, now I'm in a position to do what I want, when I want (subject to what her indoors says)

    No more shaving!

Well, not quite, but I've taken early retirement and no longer have to shave every day for work. I still do most days out of habit, but it's great to have the odd lazy day when I just don't bother. It also makes the next one that much more enjoyable.

Your #1 Value For Money Shave Item

My Merkur 34c in gold, purchased many moons ago from Connaught Shaving. It's in almost daily use, no fiddly parts to go wrong. Paid for itself several times over, still going strong, and it will outlast me
