Best Wet Shaving Bargains In The UK?

Hello Gents-- Being across the pond it is sometimes difficult for me to judge relative pricing for wet shaving products "native" to other countries. I am working on an article for Sharpologist that I would like to make less US-centric. So my question is, what are the best wet shaving bargains...

    3one6 user experience

I'm surprised that you think there's a lot of blade feel. I think there's there's not much at all. YMMV of course. :)

Aluminum or Stainless handle? Where did you take the measurement? I measured mine (aluminum, red) with a digital calipers and it was closer to 11 mm mid-handle--the little bottom cap at the base of the handle is slightly wider that's closer to 12 on my calipers. BTW I posted a review...

Looking for a masculine floral/sweet scented soap

Ha, by coincidence I just finished an article about masculine floral-scented soaps (will post Friday). I mention three products specifically (Trumper Violet, Dr. Jon's Flowers In The Dark, and Salter Rose) and I think Trumper Violet could be classified as somewhat "sweet." YMMV of course. :)

Should I get an adjustable razor?

A quick note for those following this thread, while the Qshave and Ming-Shi razors are the same razor, Qshave does some additional quality control checking. Many people find the Ming-Shi has problems with blade alignment. Qshave usually catches the bad ones before they go out.... It is no...

Tales From The Dark Side :)

I like to think of this article as "tales from the dark side!" :) Plus I think the article is relevant to this forum: Will King of King Of Shaves writes about some of the technologies that go into today's modern razor cartridges, other than blade count. Will and I became acquainted on Twitter...

Favourite Truefitt & Hill Shaving Cream

As a matter of fact I just wrote a short review of the Apsley shaving cream. Performance-wise, I think it may be the best shaving cream in T&H's line (at least in my "hard" water): I always thought T&H creams were a bit on the thin side for cushioning but Apsley lathers up really well. Scent...

    Merkur progress

It's no secret that the Progress has been one of my favorite razors for many years. But, as others here have said, the new Parker Variant addresses most of the little quirks of the Progress. Now more often than not I pick up my Variant and my Progress has stayed in the razor drawer for a while.

What Smells Go Into A "Barbershop" Scent?

There is no doubt in my mind that one of the attractions of old school shaving is getting the “vibe” of a barbershop. Whether it's based on an early childhood memory or even a romantic notion of what a barbershop should smell like is almost irrelevant. It's like a racial memory. But there...

    One Blade Shave. Thoughts?

James (or anyone for that matter), if you have any questions for me but are uncomfortable about the forum feel free to email me at mantic59@sharpologist.com

    One Blade Shave. Thoughts?

Nope, no NDA, ask away... Although I know of the Autostrop I don't have any experience with it. Frankly--and respectfully--I'm not sure it's relevant either: it's been out of production for many years and vintage examples are far less common than, say, a GEM.

    One Blade Shave. Thoughts?

I can't disagree with your comments except for the one quoted above. I've used other SE razors as well: Injector, GEM, Mongoose, Cobra (Classic and King), etc. The Feather SE blade does not have the same grinding or spec's as other Feather blades (it's not as "sharp") but it does perform very...

I Just Retired To Become A Full-Time Shaving Advocate!

*Harumph*...they said for me to be careful not to let the door hit me on the butt on the way out. :dodgy: (Actually that's not quite true, I got some balloons and a cake. *Then* they kicked me out the door. :dodgy: )

I Just Retired To Become A Full-Time Shaving Advocate!

As a matter of fact I have both Cobra razors and just got a Mongoose. I'm planning to do a compare/contrast. [hr] I agree, I haven't had the time to make videos the way I wanted to. Now I can! :icon_razz:

I Just Retired To Become A Full-Time Shaving Advocate!

Believe it or not I generally avoid getting freebie samples...I buy a lot of it myself to avoid the perception of conflict-of-interest. But maybe I should do a periodic giant PIF of stuff I've tried....
