    What A Razor!

Hi Joe, I also have an AS-D2 so can happily give you my views on it vs the Outlaw. In my opinion, the Feather is a beautiful, well engineered tool but I have never been able to get a really great shave from it in the 5 or so years I've owned it. Perfectly acceptable shaves yes but nothing to...

    What A Razor!

I have a Rockwell S6. It is a fine stainless steel razor and normally I use it with plate 4 And get good results with it. Imo the Outlaw is a superior shave with a slightly more aggressive approach along with a good blade feel. I've never used the Rex or Karve so can't comment on them.

    What A Razor!

Hi. I'm getting as close to BBS in 2 passes with the Outlaw as makes no difference. It really has been that good so far. I shaved this morning and apart from a minor touch up along the jawline 2 passes left me extremely smooth. The shave is in màny ways similar to the Muhle Rocca but closer...

    What A Razor!

Negative to both I'm afraid. No washer included and I've no idea where it was made? I'd assumed UK or US as it is all stainless steel. I could be wrong.

    What A Razor!

I don't usually post on the message boards but felt that I really must make my observations known on my most recent razor purchase. Like most of us, I've always been on the lookout for the 'holy grail' razor that will give me that perfect shave. Close, smooth and irritation free and one that...

    Phoenix & Beau lathering problem

Very many thanks for the reply Kerry. It's been very helpful. I'm pleased to report that I'm creating good lather from both the Spitfire & Citra Royale soaps on a regular basis these days and am very pleased with them. Bay Rum & Albion are next on the hit list!

Pasteur Pharmacy New York - what to buy?

You're in for a treat David. There are 2 Pasteur pharmacies in NYC - one in midtown and the other on Upper East side and both are worth a visit. Its an Aladdins Cave and they stock just about everything shaving related. I'll be astounded if you leave with only 3 items. Enjoy.....

    Lee Childs

I've read all the Jack Reacher novels up to and including 'Make Me' which I believe is book #21 in the series and which I finished reading last week. Sadly it will be my last as I've felt for the last 4 or 5 books that the character and plot have run completely out of steam and become repetitive...

    Phoenix & Beau lathering problem

I have just had a terrific shave tonight but decided to face lather with the Citra Royale instead of my usual bowl lathering. I used my Rod Neep 30mm barrel brush which worked up enough great lather for a 3+ pass shave. I still haven't sorted out the problem with bowl lathering using this...

    Phoenix & Beau lathering problem

Thanks for your reply. I just bought the soaps 2 weeks ago so assume they are both new batch. There's definitely no ammonia smell as far as I can tell. I'll give it a few more attempts following the advice you've given. Cheers.
