Films/TV Shows that personify where you live?

My vague memory is that the film includes a shot taken on the bridge over the canal on Carrington Street, which I walk over most workdays.

Fat February - Leap Day Shave Razor: Flying Wing; Blade: GEM; Brush: Jaguar Boar; Soap: Stirling original tallow and lanolin Glastonbury; A/S: vintage Givenchy Gentleman. Patchouli heaven. Remember when Stirling soaps were simply shrink wrapped and lacked a container?

    Collection 'Treasures' - NotTheStig's

My general inclination with, I stress, shaving-related stuff that I buy, is to use it, otherwise why did I buy it? That means that ripe for opening are soaps, blades, aftershaves and 'perfumes'. It's partly driven, I'm sure, by curiosity and partly by the fact that I have no sons and heirs to...

I'll try to find some quiet time this week - although it will be a case of trying to remember what is where ...

    Acquisitions - February 2024

Love the Goya desk and tempted to pull out my Wilkies for a shot - although some are still in pillar boxes, which would be sacrilege ...

This one's the splash, which I'll decant into an atomiser, by and by, as it lacks a restrictor. The A/S is probably as rare as hens' teeth but can be found now and again on the Bay (as this was) - at a price

Fat February - Sunday Shave Razor: MARS; Blade: Iridium Super (half ;)); Soap: P&B Sanskrit; Brush (the last of my beehive types): handle - A P Shave Co., knot - Ace Shaving boar; A/S: vintage Egoiste.

Fat February - Mid-week shave (+ 1 day): Razor: Maxwell June*; Blade: Gillette Ninja; Brush: RazorRock Hive; Soap: Mickey Lee Pantie Dropper; AS: Floris Elite (vintage) * I don't see much about this on UK forums - my best description is that it's akin to a GII that you can put any DE blade in...

Fat February - Sunday Shave 1962 birth year/quarter Tech with original American Red Cross box (possibly intended for US forces in Vietnam); vintage Wilkie; Omega 40033; I Coloniali (contains PEG-40 Sorbitan Lanolate i.e. lanolin fatty acids); Bart's Balm Ben More (not pictured).

    The Wilkinson Sword Shaming Brush

I'm intrigued to see a badger amongst them, although it looks like it's been clipped - and poorly at that. I have one bristle WS - I seem to recall a debate as to what bristle actually meant at times: bristle as in nylon, or bristle as in natural bristle i.e. boar ...

    Bath and Shower Routines

This could well be a TLDR! We have 2 power showers and a bath but for >12 months I've been a bath monkey. The reason - a side effect of medication resulted in psoriasis - primarily scalp psoriasis but with angry patches elsewhere - face (esp.), legs, arms, back. Whilst arguing for a change in...

Curious Journey of the British Gillette Tech

I have numerous Techs, including one yet to feature in Fat February (if I remember) - birth year, not cased, but boxed and very possibly intended to be on its way to the Vietnam War. Unrelated, but my question is - I have several British 40s Techs which are clearly 'fat handle' (I've weighed...

    Growing Old

Whilst getting ready for bed the other night, I said to my wife - look at me: my hair's thinning, I've got bags under my eyes, I've got jowls, a double chin and a terrible paunch. Silence. I said 'can't you say something positive'? Her reply - 'well there's nothing wrong with your eyesight'.

Fat February Mid-week shave (a day late - I took a day's leave from work) :) The General (brass); Proline; Jabonman 'Wet Earth' con lanolina (c. 10 years old and still smells great); TSN 2013 L/E Shavemac beehive; Boots Freshwood.

    Fat February 2024

Having trawled through part of my hoard of soaps, I've been surprised at how many contain lanolin - I've turned up at least 14 individual soaps, in addition to the lowly 3 I've posted. In the words of Oasis "There's lots and lots for us to see ... Lots and lots for us to do."

    SOTD: Saturday 10 February - Friday 16 February 2024.

The brush handle and razor both look the bees. I'm tempted to jump in on the passaround but, based on the other RR prices, I just know this would be expensive and I'm not sure I can justify yet another razor when I have so many that ... well, I can shave with. Pondering ...
