    IOS 7

Battery issues are usually fixed with a clean restore, instead of doing an update. Also there are some new services that you can turn off... On the 5 battery life has improved, but that's with a clean install... I don't have a 4 / 4s on hand to test I though. This is a known problem with a...

    IOS 7

Honestly, I'm very satisfied with iOS 7, having been part of the beta program means I had the opportunity to test it extensively over the last months. It's got a few flaws, but then so does 6.1.3/4. What device are you considering updating? M.

    IOS 7

Yeah, never met anyone either, and you do know you can turn Paralax effect off? (which I've done for saving battery life) But yeah, staring at a tiny screen for hours facebooking or playing angry-birds would probably make you dizzy, especially while walking around with total disregard for...

    IOS 7

Been running iOS 7 since early betas, and the few things I like are the control centre, the new task manager and a few other items, overall a pretty good update, depending on device of course. (iPhone 5 run very nicely) M.

Life change.. a trip around Europe

I think we all have a different mindset, you start talking "permanent contract", "Mortgage", "long term relationship" and see how fast I get the hell out of dodge! (not a joke!) My life path has been very rocky, as I've said in the original post, but to add to that, I've had some very close...

Life change.. a trip around Europe

Well, the thing is, a recumbent bike is just a lot more efficient than a normal bike, and I might do the whole camping in fields, shaving in the river and stuff, but when you travel, travel in style. I chose a trike config since you can't fall off, I still got stabilisers on my 2 wheeled bike...

Life change.. a trip around Europe

Some call it "brave", other would call it stupid.. I'm pretty sure my mother would agree on the second definition when she finds out. So far preparations have been: Buy a map of Europe Put down a hefty chunk of change to order the bike starting to sort books and shit to sell Buy...

RE: secret santa pop it in the post

RE: secret santa I'm really glad that this tradition I started 3 years ago is continuing, this will be my TSR legacy I'm leaving behind ;) For those that weren't here 3 years ago: http://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/forum/thread-4723.html M.

Life change.. a trip around Europe

Completly agree, and I know myself, when/if this journey ends, I'll be penniless and homeless, but I'm quick to get back on my feet, never had a problem with chucking it all and doing something new. This will be my 4th "f*ck it, I'm out!" in my life, probably not the last! Thanks guys for all...

Life change.. a trip around Europe

Oh yeah, I have no regrets on past events, I've lived in 4 countries, speak 4 languages (and get by with a few more), I've worked in a variety of fields, going from electronic engineering to IT and nursing, all without having finished highschool. (secondary school). I've roamed the streets with...

Life change.. a trip around Europe

Hey guys, Most of you haven't seen me in a while, I had a few PMs, but that's it ;) As they say, some people have their midlife crisis and buy a red sports car. (I bought a black one at 30ish), and go galavanting with younger ladies etc.... Well, I'm up nearing 38, sort of not where I...

    Wallets

That's the problem with very successful kickstarter campaigns, the Omega/Fireti got 20x the expected goal.. the Crabby 30x.. which makes me think I backed the right ones ;) (I backed both in their first week) The Crabbys are supposed to ship (to KS backers) within 10-15 days now, the last...

    Wallets

I like the belroy one, the other looks less practical... Fireti is really cool, but there is still a bit of backlog on the kickstarter ones. (I was lucky, and received one of the first ones) These are the comments I have posted on their KS page over the space of a few months: Ok, and...

    Wallets

No problem on demagnitisation, never heard of it happening myself. THe only way to do it is with a heavy magnet, and you need to do several passes over the stripe to do any damage. Kickstarter has a few very nice minimalistic wallets going at the moment. (I got my one of there) I backed...

It's such a shame that this is considered "an interesting experience", and isn't the defacto standard anymore. He's given you the best options in my opinion, without upselling at all cost. Do get another quote, but if the price is similar, it's businesses like these that you should support...

WTB iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 at sensible cash

I replaced a screen assembly on a iPhone 4 just 3 days ago, it's a bit tricky, but very doable. The 4 might actually be easier than the 3GS. (The LCD and the digitizer are fused together) what's great with these phones is since they've been in production for so long, parts are cheap and easily...

yes, but the home button costs a few quid, and is fairly easy to replace. First eBay link I found and another one that includes the tools. Replacement guide: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing+iPhone+4+Home+Button/3144/1 M.

Just for info, if you're using a Vodafone UK locked phone, it won't work with spanish Vodafone, the locks are country & operator. So if you want to use it with a spanish sim (vodafone or other) you need an unlocked phone. M.
