How in the hell do I have so many brushes?

My brother in law loaned me a new boar brush, a Surrey re-knot. Ordered a fan shaped knot, and was sent a flattop instead. I can see why face latherers like flattops, despite their goofy look. Almost ordered a knot for myself, then I regained my sanity. Maybe in a year or so I'll order a badger...

    Cube - Phoenix Artisan Acoutrements

My only experience with Ach. Brito is their Musgo shaving soap, which is a decent soap. Not top tier, but good.

    Cube - Phoenix Artisan Acoutrements

Ach. Brito makes a pre-shave soap as well. What is it? Proof that suckers will buy anything if it's marketed right. Pre-shaves didn't exist 20 years ago, except for that 'King of Shaves' stuff, and IIRC, the owner admitted that it was a bit of a gimmicky product years later. As for Cube, I...

    Alternative to bulging pockets ..

In the U.S., if I see a fanny pack/bum bag, it's usually a good indicator that the person is concealed carrying a pistol in it.

    Any Idea As To Age?

Looks like it was re-ground to a hollow grind at some point. Probably an early 1900's razor, going by the coffin design and the longer blade tail. Sorry, can't help more than that.

    Proraso soaps. Any good?

The red is the one that used to have the oatmeal, back when I started shaving, before it got turned into a sandalwood soap/shaving cream. I haven't seen a tube of that in ages. Does the current formulation leave white residue all over the brush, razor, and sink like the older formula?

    Kent Travel Set

Here's the other side. Looks like K112, so despite appearances, it is not part of the V series of brushes.

    Kent Travel Set

I believe it's the Kent H275 brush. I paid $140 for one in slightly better looking shape back in 2015, but who knows how well it will clean up? Just the brush, mind you, not the rest of the kit. I guess people just don't collect Kent or Rooney brushes anymore. Pity. Edit: Not the same brush...

How in the hell do I have so many brushes?

You left them in the dark and they bred. I have less than 15, and use about 3. Haven't bought a new brush in years.

There's two positive reviews on the soap and bowl combo. Nice bowl, BTW.

    Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements

Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements. That's been covered. The Superior Shave. The owner embraced convex honing, and then was such a condescending ass in debates that he got himself booted from most forums, and blacklisted by a lot of folks. I actually do sympathize with the owner here. Razor...

    Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements

There's a few of us around that were around during the PPF/HTGAM scandal, including me. They've kept their nose squeaky clean since they started PAA. Everything in that article before PAA started is absolutely true. Everything after PAA started is either coincidence or hearsay. That isn't to...

    Seven Potions

You don't want it. Trust me on this. I've gotten a respectable soap out of this by adding roughly half the tube to half of a grated puck of tallow MWF, and dousing the resultant mixture with some favorite EdT to drown out the floral assault. If you want a rose scented MWF, leave off adding...

    Who's afraid of Virginia Woolfat?

I've noticed that people who post stuff like this, tend to use MWF: 1. In a rotation 2. They never get it perfectly dialed in or 3. They don't use straight razors. And this is the ne plus ultra of shaving soaps.

    Who's afraid of Virginia Woolfat?

My final thoughts on the new formula, having been testing it all this last week. Fifth and final shave with the New Fat and my final conclusions. (The remainder of the sample is now with my brother in law, who also uses the Fat, and wanted to evaluate it for himself). Bias Alert! I considered...
