    Get yourself an Edwin Jagger DE89, or a Muhle R89. Both are iconic razors that are the best starting point for a beginner, and will last you through your next 20 razors.

    I prefer Muhle synth brushes to badgers for their performance, and price point. I won't buy badger brushes on principle. As far as the post from @JohnnyO, I'm sure he has an ulterior motive. :p
