Rex Adjustable Slant: one to lay down?

Hi guys just wondering if this is a razor worth paying £350 for and if you reckon it will keep its value or maybe increase. I am not an “investor” or serious collector or anything but for that sort of money....what’s the shave like also?

Somebody got a Double Ring for ten bucks!!!

Ohhh well yeah then that is a bummer! I gave up Ebay as lots of nice razors but mostly in US and they would not deal with me lol. I got a nice Fatboy in the end at a good price from a bloke on Against The Grain.

Are you in US though? Many US ebayers refuse to ship worldwide either because of the cost, they are lazy or they think no world exists beyond USA lol. Seriously though with reg airmail post that 10 bucks would become 50 or 60.

    Gillette Tech

The only Tech I have is a little UK made thing that I bought old new stock on ebay. It’s light and only about 6 inches long.

    Spreading the word!

I’d throw in the Parker 24C for Desperate Dan. Some say it is for experienced only but that is bull. “Leezhur” (leisure) guy in his book recommends it as a first razor. It is efficient as open comb but no blade gap so doesn’t bite. It’s cheap and weighty too.

Thanks I don’t know if I should have my Fatboy replated or leave it with its patina. It is not in that bad a state. Does anyone do this over here? I am only aware of one guy in US and it costs more to mail the thing to him than the job itself which is why I sadly don’t deal with US businesses.

    Fountain Ink Pen Acquisitions

Hi this was an original one in good condition. I can't see any on Barry's site but he has stock that he has not put up so he might have one lying around. The new one is overpriced crap according to the majority on FPN. You can get a nice original for the price of the boggo stainless nib new one...

    Fountain Ink Pen Acquisitions

I bought myself a Parker 51 from www.writetime.co.uk from the wonderful Barry Rose for a reasonable £60. I see Newell Rubbermade has launched a new 51 but it has been slammed on the pen forums!

I tried one Indian blade and found it rough as hell: any particular line you recommend?

Worst blade ever - Tiger Platinum

Really that bad thanks for posting this I waw going to try as looking at non Russian alternatives but I have good experiences with Lord (formerly Wilkinson Sword Egypt I brlieve) and Treet. I might buy a five pack to see for myself as ymmv.

    Tamed the evil Derby extra

I found Derbys blunt and therefore rough but it’s horses for courses.

... a Treet for your face?

I agree with the confusion but I recognise the packs of the blade I like from this firm. It’s horses for courses but I love the teflon coated carbon Durasharps. One of my very favourite blades: sharp and smooth. However I have to spray 99% alcohol on them afterwards to keep out the rust. Carbon...

    Which Blade now?

I’m not a fan of Astra as like Derby blades they don’t seem sharp enough for me but as always buy as many different blades in 5 packs as you can until you find what YOU like.

This is a great shame. I have run out of Nannys and wanted to replace. Sharon was always lovely to deal with: what a pity.

Sorry back after a hiatus: EJ316 borrow perchance?

Hello guys I am just wondering if anyone has onecof these I can try? It’s over £90 and seems not to to have won the universal acclaim that the DE89 has gained (I was hoping for a steel DE89 tbh). I think therefore that I would like to try one as that amount is too much for an impulse buy in...
