Indeed very good. The 507U Manchurian is my most used badger brush to date.

Meaning it's quite good. I have it in Best Badger and it's my best brush for bowl lathering creams. Runner up is the Simpson Captain 2. I love it.

The good ones might be out of your budget. I'd go with this Simpson Polo 8 in Super. End-game brush for creams.

Vulfix have creams and hard pucks, although I haven't tried any yet. Of the Italian artisan offering I do have a tallow croap, the PannaCrema Pure2O. Great scent, lather, post-shave feel (shea butter).

At first blades in safety razors were single edge and literally half of a straight razor. You sent them to be honed and they needed stropping same as straight razors. Obviously half the size because a full length would be impractical to use on a perpendicular handle. Even Feather Artist Pro's...

The older type of nylon bristles are a bit rough. Newer synths have options how soft you want them to be. Some feel like lathering up with a kitten on your face, if you can imagine that.
