    Getting pif-ed!

Of course, there are alternatives to random.org https://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/community/threads/classic-razors-coupla-soaps.53691/post-815879 (although that only worked out for me because of the number of entrants were suitable).

Wilkinson Sword Sticky vs. Schick Krona

I have a Wilkinson Sword Sticky that I enjoy using from time to time. It's a lovely mild shaver, but not inefficient. I hear similar attributes bandied about in reference to the Schick Krona. Does anyone have both and can make a direct comparison?

Special offer Lord Blades at La Barbiera

Dammit, it's those blades that are only properly finished on one edge: https://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/community/threads/big-ben-differential-edge-sharpness.46390/ Only half the bargain it first appeared! Hopefully the Rainbows others have bought are ok - the only tuck of Rainbows I ever tried...

Special offer Lord Blades at La Barbiera

Mine just arrived, which is pretty good going. Unfortunately recently started a new blade, but I look forward to trying these some time next week. From the text on the back of the tucks, I think these were intended for the Turkish market.

Special offer Lord Blades at La Barbiera

Duly enabled, thanks for the heads-up! Although it's my avatar I've only tried the regular (Stainless) Racer's, looking forward to trying the Platinum (class) version.

    Acquisitions - February 2024

I could - just - fit the DRH into my shiny new LEA bowl, but the CRS poked out a good few mm on either side. I haven't weighed the soaps (possibly the same mould was over-filled by Salter), but they're not identical.

    Acquisitions - February 2024

All this talk of triple-milled soap left me with some serious SAD. Interestingly (to me), while we're collectively fairly certain that the CRS and the DRH are the same base, the CRS is much wider - I don't think they're produced at the same facility (or if they are, they have their own line).

    Wow! Just Wow!

There was a hideously mis-matched set sold recently for £115. I'm still trying to decide whether anyone got a 'bargain' or not. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256376543884

    Alcohol Free Beer

Tried a Budvar Nealko last night (79p for 500ml from Home Bargains). Not as premium as its full fat cousin, it was a little bit sweet. Not one to bother seeking out again, but not one to avoid, either.

    Saucisson Sec

I'm also a fan of both Saucisson sec and Fuet - we had quite a bit of nice fuet over Christmas, which I think the missus picked up from Lidl.

    Suneko "Amorphous Diamond" Super Stainless

I think it's the opposite - it's become so prevalent no-one bothers mentioning it. I remember using Wilkinson Sword carts with the technology as a student around the turn of the millennium, and I'm pretty sure there's a layer included on the Wilky DE blades (that they don't even bother to...

    Eco Warrior Shave Soap Offer

Any news on a re-reformulation? Amazon lists rapeseed in the ingredients, but the manufacturor's own website lists coconut first (as does the image of the back of the cardboard box on Amazon). Is anyone still (happily) using this stuff?

    The new Fine soaps

Just in case anyone uses search somewhere down the line, I discovered on another forum that Fine is now thought to be manufactured by Tcheon Fung Sing in Italy, and is now more of a croap than the previous very hard soap. Still good, but less value for money than before.

    The new Fine soaps

Hello Gents, I remember the fuss when Fine soaps were discontinued (around the time of the Tabac reformulation, I think). Looking for soaps more recently I see they're back on the market. Has anyone tried the new versions, and are they any good?

    Gillette Goals

I enjoyed these, and the Super Nacets mentioned by pjgh. I also like the Super Blues and the Lomdon Bridges, all out of China. Maybe I'm the weirdo...

    Blades and Lather PIF (UK)

Must.... Resist! Very generous, someone's going to be very happy with this, and rightly so!

    Suneko "Amorphous Diamond" Super Stainless

Super stainless, platinum edge AND amorphous diamond - truly they are spoiling us! I remember Wilky carts with amorphous diamond coatings not too long after I started shaving, they weren't terrible.

    A brush with confusion!

I suspect the squaring of the brush is an artefact of having been shipped in a square box - I'm fairly sure it will return to round after first use.

Quick Sanity Check ... Wilkinson Sword & Schick

Yes, both part of Edgewell. Apparently us Europeans are the odd ones out (also explaining in part the existence of "Gillette Wilkinson Sword" blades in India): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schick_(razors)

    Frankensoap.

I have an old OSP tub into which new pucks and old leftovers get decanted. There must be some tiny fraction of OSP in every shave! I've never tried microwaving them together, but am very tempted to do so in the future - occasionally a bit of soap works loose and gets chased around by the brush...
