A question I'd like you to answer, please ...

I saw ,possibly on poo tube a guy shaving with his foot, he was holding the razor between his big toe and the one next to it! Just goes to show that where there's a will there's a way! :) Needless to say it was a cartridge razor and not a straight!

I'm left handed and as any left hander will tell you it's a right handed world out there, so from an early age you learn to use your right hand. Consequently, left handers develop a certain level of dual dexterity and so using my right hand wasn't too hard.

My daughters boyfriend (who I've got into DE & straight shaving) is right handed. He's been using a shavette for about a month now. He says, the cheek area is quite easy to learn but the neck is a but more difficult. He takes it slowly and is persevering and he's slowly get the hang of using both hands.

So - keep trying

I'm a lefty and use both hands to shave with an SR. It does take time but the problem is more trying to see what you are doing in the mirror at first as your hand tends to obscure your view. You also tend to be a little more tentative with the non dominant hand so with less pressure it can lead to skipping and stuttering during the stroke, which in turn can lead to nicks. You will learn your way, it will not take long.

I can second the skipping/stuttering. Fortunately, it's not lead to me nicking myself. I've noticed that my 'tentative'/non-dominant side tends to be less prone to irritation as well. That's probably because more control with my right leads to slightly greater pressure.
