Hi, I have brewed a number of kits over the last few years, I tend to stick to beer not had much success with lagers. I have heard that the Coopers Stout kit is pretty foolproof, also on the Coopers website there are recipes to tweak and improve kits. Have a look for recipes for chocolate stout and coffee Stout. I can recommend kits by Woodford, I made the Nelsons revenge And the woodfords Wherry best kits, I added a packet of yeast from Wilkinsons to the whery best and it was one of the nicest kits i've brewed. Keep an eye out for sales in Tesco's and Wilkinson's for the best prices.

I make wine, have never made beer but would like to give it ago one day.

I used to make IPA and wine when we lived on the other house. We had more room then and a second downstairs bathroom which made a great place to ferment as it was a constant temp. Made some great stuff.

Now we've moved there is no space, all my gear is in the shed :-( . I thought of trying to make rice wine, it's a bit more basic requirements and I could have found space for a 3l bucket. Hard to find short grain sticky rice though, we've no "China Town" district here.

I just have the basic equipment so not much space is required.I recently got a heating tray so I can brew it anywhere.

ah something fun. The bread yeast the guy in the video recommends, um the guys odd behavior is a result of that yeast trying to blow a column of foam out of his rear cheeks. DO NOT use bread yeast. Nasty, nasty, low alcohol.

Gruit beer is how one gets "loaded" off the fermented barley hooch friends. Brew like a real Briton.
