Argan Oil hair conditioner used as pre-shave

Just Googled to see if I could find a list of ingredients, I thought this would have been a long shot but actually found the same box!

So sunflower oil, olive oil or this stuff; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moringa_oleifera oil

Any other suggestions chaps? I wouldn't want to over dilute it as the argan oil is meant to be the good stuff! (not that other oils aren't)

Edit; have just googled this and seen that Sweet Almond Oil is recommended for the face as well. I think a mix of mainly argan oil with a little sweet almond oil would work well actually

My first time trying argan oil @Fergiebilly I don't think I put enough on as didn't notice a massive difference! Will look to put a little more on next time... I'm tempted to mix it with a carrier oil though as I'm not sure it will last too long if I use any more than I did last time and at £6.50 for 60ml it isn't the cheapest... Any suggestions anyone? (I have sweet almond oil)http://www.akomaskincare.co.uk/oils/carrier-oils-organic-a-z/argan-moroccan-oil.html

@Burgundy, do you mix it with anything or just use it pure? What do you find gives you the best result?
Two drops, unadulterated. Less is more. What are you looking to achieve from using it?

Heres my take. For a smooth experience then any oil will do, Castrol GTX from the shed, oil reduces friction and so causes less irritation, but it might not do your skin any favours. :)

Seriously though I'm using Argan oil for the reported skin benefits but I think thats the long game. The cheap shave oil with menthol I find is a great shave, refreshing cold kick and bloody cheap at a quid. I swap depending on the soap I'm using

Sorry the skin benefits were a given, I know I'll get that using a product like this. The question I was answering was regarding my expectation from the oil in terms of my shave (that was how I answered it anyway :p). Definitely agree that one of the big perks is the skin benefits, just didn't notice any difference in how my shave went!

I found this Argan Oil Conditioner in Holland & Barrett today.

Using hair conditioner as pre shave has been recommended elsewhere, and argan oil is respectably high on the ingredients list (as far as that tells you anything).

So I plan, rather than applying oil pre shave, to try keeping this on my beard area during my pre-shave shower, and wash it off last thing.

Oh well, keeps me amused!

I found some 100% pure Argan oil in Wilkinsons store for £2.50 for 50ml. This is considerably cheaper than Holland and Barrett which is the only other place I've seen 100% undiluted oil at £14.99 for 50ml

I thought it worth a punt on that price (even though I've already got the hair treatment one)

I used my Argan Oil as a pre-shave this morning and a funny thing happened - it killed my lather dead!

I've used Argan Oil many times before and have not had any issues with affecting the lather but today some chemical reaction must have happened. Today I used Stirling soap (old recipe) which I haven't used with Argan Oil before so maybe it's something in this particular soap. Anyways the lather turned from luxuriously thick and creamy to vanished in a matter of seconds.
Go figure

I had the same with Prorazo red but to be honest the oil was a suggestion to stop oily skin so thought as a pre shave and then scrapping it off didn't make sense.

I started using a tiny amount as a post shave and to my amazement it helped...putting oil on skin stops oily skin! I've since read up and its replacing oils so the skins doesn't produce more.

They put this stuff in those anti aging creams, I've noticed a big difference in my skin though

When I use pre-shave oils I always put them on before shower, I don't like the idea of oil touching my brushes and razor while lathering and shaving BUT, pure virgin argan oil is my favourite post-shave treatment, AS first than 4-5 drops of oil on my shaved head and beard-pure argan is great as beard oil too! Argan oil is also one of very few oils that will not clog your pores
(comedogenic rating=0).

Lather is an enjoyable exercise but not really necessary. Half the time I use a DIY shave oil exclusively and dispense with the soap. Works fine. I typically do add Argan as one component. One application is typically sufficient for three pass shave.
