Astra blade fans

One on the left is genuine, one on the right is what has been delivered

I bought the same from the bay but 100 of them. :mad:

I used them a few times and did have a few nicks from them. I have stopped using them but it may well have been newbie errors on my behalf several months ago.
I believe these maybe counterfeit unless someone with more knowledge than I can say otherwise.

What maybe counterfeit on the "Left?" The back of this blade is totally blank.

Thank the lord I have plenty of the ones on the "Right" to get on with, I feel much more comfortable using them anyway. :)
 
I use the excellent Focus r48 se razor which uses halved de blades. These are very easily snapped in two. The Astra blades bought a year ago were superb but today I tried a new packet bought recently in a sample pack. Oh dear. The blade snapped in half ok, but each half was warped , unusable . Very flimsy compared with the trusty old version.I have not tried shaving with them in my de razor, but they do seem to ge different.
 
Very good blades (I've got a couple hundred) but comparable to many other better blades (Personna Labs, GSB, Derby Extra, Super Iridium, German Wilkinsons which are all blades I own and use).
 
As a loyal Astra fan, i am sorry to say, that i was horrified when i saw the new batches, without the numbers and the empty backside. It's just...wrong... As soon as i learnt about it, i rushed and bought 200 more blades, to add to my previous stash, so now i have 1200 "old stock" Astras, produced between January and February 2017. I am SO glad i hoarded the "old" blades while i still could. The italian Amazon already sells the new batches.

It's about OCD. First, i like the previous version better, it's prettier, it's more symmetrical. Symmetry means beauty. Now, the blade is "ugly", on one side has nothing, which makes it feel like a knock-off blade.

Here's an easier example. She is the same as before, but... do you really *feel* she is the same???

To me, i just hate to look at the new blades. I wouldn't be able to buy 100 of them, let alone 1200 that i have now. I am glad i did buy them. In total, i bought more than enough blades for the rest of my life (5250 blades in 12 brands) and turns out, now i can live with peace of mind, no matter what other blades change or disappear or whatever.

I genuinely cannot understand why PPI changed the grind/character of the Astra blades.
