Now in the same way some Artisans reversed engineering Tabac and steep in different scents at a much higher price. I challenge either the maker of Arko or anyone who can remake it in the same profile scent as Aventus..

I recognise it as a great value soap and a good soap and I do have some in the wings but I rarely use it, I prefer to use my Cyril Salter hard Tallow soap as an outstanding soap both in performance and price and it's made in England too!

I'm surprised that Vitos Red hasn't been mentioned!! Originally it is sold as 1kg block and this block is around £15. In my opinion it is very good value for money, if not the best. The performance of this soap is top notch, if I say 'Vitos Red is the best shaving soap available' it wouldn't be an exaggeration.

Has anyone tried Derby shaving soap in a bowl? £3.79 for 140g. If their blades are anything to go by it'll end up in the bin though!!

I've not tried it but it's supposed to be very close to Arko but with a slightly milder scent.

Just read some reviews on Amazon, all seem pretty good. Worth a punt at that price I reckon.

Yep, just started my DE journey, and within the first month I had bought 7 soaps, as well as receiving samples with orders....

However, I am planning on making a lot of use out of them, before I add (too many) others...

I'm limiting myself to a couple or three quality soaps, I tried some cheaper ''handmade artisan" ones from evilbay and they were rubbish. I ended up using them in the shower otherwise I would have consigned them to the bin.
