Thanks for all of your PM's. That's all my samples given away for the time being. Will let you know when I've got some more. Look forward to hearing all of your views and thoughts.

Have a great day.
Emma

My PS balm arrived this morning.

Will be trying it out tonight.

I couldn't resist a quick squirt from the pump bottle - very surprised to see it's brown instead of white. It's like melted chocolate.

A nice cologney type scent. Subtle and not overpowering.

Will be giving it a proper try tonight.

Thanks to Emma / BBA for the package that arrived today.

These are my initial impressions after using the following products once so far.

General presentation & branding

+ shipped in a nice branded cardboard box
+ inclusion of a product catalogue
+ generous selection of samples

- lack of complete ingredient list on your website and in the catalogue (this needs to be addressed ASAP)
- lack of amount of product being sold on the website (no weight or ml listed) - again this needs addressing ASAP

Face wash (sample sachet)

+ felt like my face was well cleaned and ready to shave without drying the skin
+ I liked the rice particles for exfoliation, gentle but effective

- price

Shave oil (sample sachet)

I covered half of my face with the shave oil, and left the other half oil free for a direct comparison.

For clarity I used Geo F. Trumper ‘Spanish Leather' shave cream on 1 days growth.

+ nice skin feel, it felt hydrating without being overly greasy
+ nice thin consistency that did not gunk up my brush or razor
+ it did provide an added amount of slickness to the shave, though the result was not massive. I will try the product again with more hair growth to see if it makes a bigger difference than

- price, currently listed at £24 on their website (unsure how much you get for the price as it is not listed on the website)
- problem with all oils, residue left on sink that needs to be cleaned after the shave

Post shave balm (full sized product)

I had a mainly irritation free shave so I can't comment on the relief aspect of the product, but I do suffer from dry skin spots post shave that the product dealt with well

+ my favourite of the three products I used
+ fantastic face feel, leaves the skin soft and smooth and not greasy
+ very fast absorbtion into the skin
+ novelty choc like colour that fades quickly into the skin, quite unique.
+ I like the pump bottle

- possibly absorbs too fast! I had to use more product than I usually do with other balms
- ingredient list on the back of the pump bottle is tiny and hard to read
- Packaging is a bit boring and nondescript
- not a big fan of the scent (completely subjective – and sorry I'm useless at describing scents so will leave this to somebody else!)

Conclusion

It's clear from one use that these products are high quality and have been well developed.

I would also say that they have all performed well, but that performance does come at a high price - and I'm not sure yet if I would be happy to pay the prices listed on the website.

In the world of wet shaving there is a lot of competition that means a huge selection of products at keen prices.

I can't help but feel that we (wet shavers) aren't the core target market - I can imagine the brand appearing in GQ etc

Thanks again to Emma & BBA for letting us try out these goodies, I'm looking forward to using these samples again and seeing if my opinion of them changes through further use.

Dear @smooth_criminal , thank you so much for taking the time to right such a detailed review. It's very important to us to have the feedback of the end user. You are not alone in your comments regarding detailing of the size of the product on our website, and we are addressing this as we speak. I do hope to hear from you in a few shaves time and see how you are getting on with the products.

Don't forget our YouTube Channel is full of helpful advice and shave rituals that will help you get the best out of the products.

So I got my first use under the belt last night:

Hot shower, BBA Face Wash, BBA Shave Cream, Body Shop Synthetic, Merkur 39C, Astra SS (6), BBA Post Shave Balm, BBA Moisturiser.

All in all, a more than satisfactory shave, I can tell there are many more great shaves to be had from the range. In a nutshell, my findings are:

Face Wash: Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Shave Cream: Provides a good amount of glide and protection, which gives confidence for the against the grain pass. Nice scent.
Post Shave Balm: Superb. The colour took me by surprise, but if you work it into the skin until the colour fades away, you know you've done the job properly.
Moisturiser: Not keen on the scent, but boy does it leave your skin feeling great!

I am going to use the oil as the shave lubricant tomorrow, which may or may not allow me to get the matches into play. So big thanks to @Emma C. for the samples, they're going down a treat.

Good stuff isn't it Nick, agree with all your stuff, but it appears that I'm more impressed with the Face Wash than you,..opinions vary I know.
I've tried the FW as a cleanser, exfoliant and mask and although I have no way to gauge its effectiveness, it feels great.
The Shave Butter is a strange animal,...I used it along with the other elements, as per the BBA video and found that it clogged my DE up during the shave.
I would imagine that when shaving with a straight, this wouldn't be problematic, but with a DE, I'd be inclined to omit this step.
Like you, I'll be giving them both a go as stand-alone shave products,...when I feel a little braver.
All in all, great products though,...Cheers Emma and BBA.

Great video Nick, I've just finished watching it. The FM scent isn't for everyone, (although quite a few have told me that the scent has grown on them over time!) It's a more earthy scent and that's down to the Irish Moss which is used to soothe, soften, reduce irritation and protect the membranes of the skin.

Very much look forward to hearing how you get on with the BBA Shave Oil.

Thanks again for taking the time do review the BBA Men's Grooming Range.

All the best,
Emma

Oh I like it make no mistake :) I hadn't watched the BBA videos prior to using it, so now I know it can work in different ways, that adds a couple of strings to it's bow, which can only be a good thing. I'll try it in the other ways this week to get a more rounded view of how it operates :)

Thank you @Emma C. :) The performance of the moisturiser is more important than the scent, which really doesn't last long enough to be a problem, and like you say, it may well grow on me over time. I did find the consistency unusual for a moisturiser, but I won't judge the book by the cover so to speak. The performance so far is very good on this, and chances are that this could well become a permanent part of my routine. I like the pump dispenser option as this will offer a convenient storage and dispensing method.

Now, I'm keen to know a bit more about your pomade. I assume that from the 'non greasy' description, it's an orthodox water base pomade? What sort of scent does it hold, and how do BBA rate the 'hold'? :)
