Best shavette

Thats what im thinking eduardo and think when something is too good to be true it usually is.
It's unlikely that anyone would go to the trouble of setting up tooling to make fake Feather razors - there just isn't the demand IMO. That's a good price - and if it did turn out to be a knock-off, you go back to Ebay and get a refund. Despite all the negative comments about them, EBay has a reputation to uphold and do not knowingly allow fakes on their site.

Ok, so I thought I'd resurrect this thread rather than starting a new one. I want to try a shavette, looking at it the Feather SS seems to be the "best" but I don't want to shell that sort of money out if I can't get to grips with this style of shaving.

What is the best value shavette to try & practice with before shelling out on a Feather?

Saw this, but very cheap http://www.barberscissors.co.uk/shaving-razor-wood-r5

I suppose like most things you get what you pay for, Parker SR1 also comes up a lot for beginners?

I appreciate any input (good or bad)

The Feather SS AC razor is great giving fantastic shaves but as @pjgh has said its maybe better to buy the cheaper CJB Kamisori to see if you get along with it or not and as he said forget the shavettes that take the half DE blade......could put you off for life, I learned the hard way! :)

What Both the Guys Said..Feather Artist or Another Version of that Design..Those DE Contraption's are Crud..Or Better Still..Get a Shave Ready SR & Strop..Ye Canny Whack the Real McCoy..o_O

Cheers Billy, I don't want to run before I walk, thought a Shavette would be next step before a SR. plus I have no idea what SR I would go for & this stropping & honing is way over my head

A Shavette Never Helped Me One Bit before Moving on to SRs..They are 2 Different Animals..Also..Stropping SRs is Easy & Eventually as Routine as Wiping You're Backside..Don't Listen to all this Forum its Hard Talk..As Far as Honing Goes..There are Plenty of Guys that Use SRs that Never Hone their Own Razors..o_O

A Shave Ready SR Can Shave for Months & Months with Normal Stropping & Touch Up on Pastes..:)
