Hi Rangers62

I'm glad you got a razor from the great vintage year of 1962. My birthday is in February and I guess it would fall in within the code of H1. I wasn't aware that razors could be dated in such a manner before joining the forum. It is a real eye opener.

All the best.

A friend of mine bought an H1 razor, and shortly after that an N1 as well.

It wasn't long before he contracted Swine Flu.

Genius. Simple.

I'm trying to find a 1974 Black Super Speed U2

I have traced a good quality Black SS U1 at a good price but would really like one for the month of May.

Any help will be appreciated.

PS: I'm tempted to buy the U1

I've read this thread with great interest as I didn't realise just how seriously you can take this whole razor dating.
I know that the thread is predominantly Gillette orientated, but I was wondering about an old Wilkinson Sword butterfly opening razor that my dad had back in the 60s.
Does anyone know if vintage WS razors ever appear for sale?

They do, they are most commonly referred to as stickys due to the handle, but they can command a high price for some reason.

I'm looking for a 1Q 1980 Gillette. Too bad for me only black plastic handled razors were made... however a new one would be nice :) Or a nice condition?

I think it is a A1 you are looking for dont think they used Q, super adjustable would be a good fit for what you want
