Blade Review Spreadsheet

Just so that I understand this right, is it that all categories have a score where low is bad and high is good? The reason I ask is that drag, nick and irritation all seem to score low but the overall score is a sum of all categories.

Sorry - I'm a bit anal too!!

High for the 'good categories' is desirable and high for the 'bad' categories isn't. For price, higher is better (for the quality of the blade).
Overall score is exactly that but is calculated by adding the good categories and subtracting the bad ones.

Bear in mind everyone's different - especially the razor you put it in. The blades have been scored after being used to bluntness in either a Merkur 38R or Progress. Progress (fairly recently acquired) is my 'control' razor now for reviewing new-to-me blades.

Price is the most potentially vague of the categories. It will change over time and can vary at any time between different sellers; then there's shipping costs, bulk deals, import and other duties - it's not supposed to be comprehensive, just a rule of thumb based on what I've paid or seen at the time (some blades were PIFs from other members but I still gave them a pricing score). When I started out I looked at price more than I do now so it's for the user to decide how important that is.

Spreadsheet updated with pics of new Chinese blades PIF (http://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/forum/thread-15496.html). If anyone can read the writing on the boxes I'll add it to the poor descriptions I've managed. And I am referring to the Chinese text; I managed to read the English bits! (just about).

I don't know how you see it but I used Google Docs and you can filter using Data, Filter and then clicking the column header to enable/disable there.

It f***ing has, yes! Spent an hour just now trying to fix it. I have an Office program on my phone andI think it is to blame. It downloaded the file onto the SD card a while back. When you make changes it saves to SD and then asks if you want to save to Google Drive too. Unfortunately the next time I opened it on my phone it opened the old version off the SD card and then when I closed it it synchronised to Google Drive and so the newer one is lost. Just spent this time putting the pics back in. Well, most of them. Not happy!

If anyone has a very recent copy downloaded somewhere I'd appreciate them sending it to me in a PM. I've lost some of the Chinese blade reviews now. Sorry guys.

I'll take a look tonight. Thanks Halk - saved me a lot more hard work! I'll look into how to restore from automatic backups from Google Drive - there must be a way
