Creed Aventus

I tried a spray on Aventus in a John Lewis a couple of years ago to see what the fuss was about. Nice scent initially but lasted all of about 20 minutes on me.

I'd recommend trying any scent on skin to get a true impression. I'm glad I did with Aventus.
It may have been playing tricks - as I mentioned earlier it has the ability to cause anosmia. You'll find others might smell it on you where you can't!

Definitely a good moral, try them out first! :)

I found I got (strong) wafts of it all day, intermittently. But I knew it must still be there.

;) Anybody know if John Lewis have testers out for this? It is a fair trek for me to go there and they do not put it out to try. Certainly would not entertain buying before trying either at that price. Be nice to see what the hype is about though.

Why not buy a sample?

I didn't think Wickhams Classic 24 was close TBH. Wickhams Cashmere however is a beautiful scent.

Fine Platinum aftershave and soap are the closest I've come across. I do have the matching edt too but it doesn't last very long though.

Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man is a decent clone too.

Layer Mr Perfume oil and Club de Nuit for a perfect clone. I tried this on one hand and the real thing on the other and neither the missus nor I could note a jot of difference. The oil provides the missing pineapple. The first few minutes of course, do contain the CdN lemon blast, but it disappears quickly.

I have a bottle of Aventus I got a couple of years ago when I was really into fragrance. It's very good, but is certainly overpriced for what it is (especially at today's prices, ouch!), but there is nothing like it. The various attempts at clones don't ever come close.

I like it enough, but it does make me feel like a chav wearing it. Kind of like Rolex to me, it's what you buy because that's what everybody says is 'the best'. BUT, like I say, there's nothing else comes close to it so top marks for being its own fragrance that stands alone.

I have a few Creed fragrances and it's not my favourite but it is very good. Jump on a split on a fragrance forum or there's a guy who was very successful on flea bay who now has his own site if you search for Tom creeds decants he is easy to find and his prices are reasonable with really quick postage.
