Apparently it's being passed around here too. I knew that.
Dunno, you know ........ It's Super Secret! ...... Could cause all sorts of trouble for mon ami the Darwin guy .....
I mean ....... You could like it and want to buy some ....... and I get the feeling he's happier locked in his storeroom sniffing it
That's a fair point, actually ........ I'll mention samples ........ everybody likes samples.......
Wishbone, were you able to talk to Darwin for samples?
Or would they accept further testers?
Had a look in the shop today.
Still no Darwin razor but using the brands name the business starts and offering a wild mixture of liqueur bottles, soup - and sugar bowls filled with aftershave and shaving soap.
First impression was, "what a load of tat!" ... but upon reading, all those bowls and bottles are procured off the second hand market, reusing what would otherwise be junk. Those pots and bottles have a purpose: to convey something. Great that they're being re-used.
I wonder if I might have been less sneering if he'd not bagged such a prestigious name?
The message is clear! If you don't get it just move on! People who do will stop by and shop.On the other hand you can buy a vintage bottle or bowl on your own on ebay. You can find nice looking bottles or containers for little money there (next hype? ). Clean it and fill it with some shaving soap or aftershave you like. Have done that in the past on my own, like many other member`s of shaving forums. Well, you don´t get a tethered paper label on it, printed with the brand Darwin, but what is the difference? Why is on every product image in this "second hand" shop a Darwin razor? Just as sign the items got the blessing of the brand?
Honestly, I wish that guy luck with his business, but at the moment I am at the same time a bit amused and disappointed.
We discuss packaging/presentation here... yet don't know how good the product is...
I am with you, Juan Manuel. I have had the best experience with LPL soaps And have tried more than a few...
But still I want to try the Darwin before I judge... Will place an order very soon to find out. I am so curious...
