Our Charlie boy there knows it's the way to go but isn't quite set up, or stocked up, for samples yet. I think that has to happen eventually, though.

Floid ....... My soap came in a lovely ceramic, lidded bowl with violets patterned all over it. Actually looks gorgeous ......... Just have to remember not to f***ing drop it :D

Thanks. Had a look too. Those bottles and bowls look nice. I see Le Pere Lucien is a production partner... good.
 
First impression was, "what a load of tat!" ... but upon reading, all those bowls and bottles are procured off the second hand market, reusing what would otherwise be junk. Those pots and bottles have a purpose: to convey something. Great that they're being re-used.

I wonder if I might have been less sneering if he'd not bagged such a prestigious name?

On the other hand you can buy a vintage bottle or bowl on your own on ebay. You can find nice looking bottles or containers for little money there (next hype? :D). Clean it and fill it with some shaving soap or aftershave you like. Have done that in the past on my own, like many other members of shaving forums. Well, you don´t get a tethered paper label on it, printed with the brand Darwin, but what is the difference? Why is on every product image in this "second hand" shop a Darwin razor? Just as sign the items got the blessing of the brand? :confused:
Honestly, I wish that guy luck with his business, but at the moment I am at the same time a bit amused and disappointed.

The message is clear! If you don't get it just move on! People who do will stop by and shop.

We discuss packaging/presentation here... yet don't know how good the product is...
