Deodorant/Anti-perspirants

i was hoping for some recommendations for scent free, or at least very subtle, deodorants and/or anti perspirants. Basically something that won't clash with an aftershave without having to buy matching sets. All I seem to be able to find in town is either labelled ‘Sporty' or ‘Ice Blast' or shelves full of Lynx!

+1. It is not an antiperspirant, however it's an effective deodorant with the advantages that it lasts for ages and doesn't make the armpits of your shirts go sticky like the aerosols do.

I've been using alum for years and swear by it.

You're more likely to find scent-free deodorant/anti perspirant among women's deodorants if you're still looking.

Yep. Just moisten your pits and rub it on your skin.

I use a crystal deodorant from a brand called Nature Unearthed for day-to-day but, if I want reliable performance, I'll use an unscented anti-perspirant - typically found in the wimen's section. Dove do a decent one called ‘Pure'. Otherwise, Mitchum.

The crystal type deodorant sticks are a different form of alum. Ammonium Alum rather than Potassium Alum, to work out the difference try using the ammonium one after a shave.

Good point, you can use either on the old pits but probably want to stick to potassium alum on the fizzog.

I use sandpaper to take off the top few mm and make it flat like an alum block.

I use L'Oreal Men Expert Carbon Protect. It gives good protection, doesn't stain clothing and doesn't have a particularly strong scent.

I tried Jack Black Pit Boss 3 years ago and have never used anything else since. Subtle scent, superlative performance. It is not cheap, but a stick lasts me 10-12 months, as you don't need to apply much. It works for days and days, as I have discovered when traveling.
