First time feather user.

+1
Feathers on the other hand I find rough as ... well something rude, on the first or any other shave; they just get blunter and rougher as you go.
In anything more aggressive than a NEW, I agree, though I don't think they're bad in a slant. They certainly don't last beyond 3 shaves for me, though (mind you, I tend not to use any blades beyond the 3rd or, occasionally, the 4th shave anyway.

@chrisbell In any razor for me, just not a blade that suits my face. Especially with whiskers I can get 6 or 7 comfortable, close shaves from a Rapira in an Old. Admittedly I only do a one pass but it's still better than a Feather in any razor for me, by a fair degree at that.
Blades are as YMMV as any other part of a shave, if Feathers suit you hooray! If they don't there's plenty more Sharks in the sea...

Indeed; I think blades are the best example of YMMV in traditional shaving.

The blade will not be a problem if your lather and technique are up to a good standard. I also manage to get plenty of shaves out of a Feather blade so the only negative side is the price. Gillette Silver Blue would be my best performer and works in all my razors.

+1 for the Gillette Silver Blue, a great blade, superb consistent performance - YMMV :)

I do like the Feather blade in a Feather razor - perfect pairing.
