Gillette Nacets or Gillette Rubies, which do you prefer?

Just an observation in that Gillette exclusively markets their Nacet in the Middle East and it seems to be "tweaked" for people who are very hirsute with dense beards. The Rubie Platinum Plus on the other hand is rarely seen outside of Russia and seems to be the spiritual successor to the their old Platinum Plus flagship blade (imagine that). They are both fantastic IMO, but the person needs to try both to decide which is best for them. Just my 2 cents.

I tried Nacets a couple of years ago & found them ok but nothing special. Always wanted to try the Rubies so put out an SOS on here which was answered by @Taipan who very kindly sent me some. Beautiful, right up there with Polsilver as my top blade. Smooth as silk. Mowed through my stubble like a hot knife through butter. Instantly bought 100, as you do, and since found out that there's a bloke in Lithuania who knocks them out for £14 so will have to get another 100, obviously.

Nacets are very good but imo Rubies are better. :)

Rubies for me Paul..my number 1 blade! Nacets a close second though all the Russian blades are great! I am currently using Rapira SS and if you haven't tried them you should..very smooth! I compared them with a Wilkinson Sword blade and it was like night and day...can't get on with the Wilkies...really rough for me.

Although I like Nacets and love Rubies my blade of choice these days is the Polsilver Stainless (lodz) getting harder to find and because of that are expensive but for me worth every penny (dark brown box of 10)

+ 1 on the Polsilver.excellent blades, all the russian made blades i've purchased and shaved with have gave me excellent results, but the Polsilver is at the number 1 spot.;)
