Does anyone know how to embed a photo from Google drive on to a forum post?

Any help very much appreciated.

Ps. I used to use photobucket but their T&C's changed unfavourably

Not straightforward, but doable:

Go to https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive
Find your image. Double click on it. A preview will open.
At the top right are three vertical dots. Click on them. Click on 'Share'
Click on 'Get shareable link' - it will say 'Link copied to clipboard'
Unfortunately that link doesn't work.
Now you go to https://sites.google.com/site/gdocs2direct/
Copy the link into the first input field. Click 'Create direct link'
Copy the generated link.
Insert image into post. Copy generated link as Image URL.
Done.

I just did that and the result is...
uc

... delicious.. if you are a cannibal.

probably need a little more help here. I have a a photo of two which I have no problem getting the links etc but when I try to post them they are rotated 90 degrees. I have tried turning the photo on my google drive but they end up the same.

Any ideas how I might overcome this?

eg:

Not sure what's wrong with that. Which corner is the blue panel with the brush supposed to be in?

Those problems are a pain in the neck.
Is that image straight from a camera or has it been edited? I assume the former.
If so, load into image into an image editing program and save it again (maybe make a tiny, tiny edit first). That often fixes rotation meta data problems that shouldn't be a problem.
All I can suggest right now. Sorry.
