Help pick a brush for my dad :)

Hi everyone
My dad is a wet shave enthusiast who uses Taylors of Bond Streed hard soap with a Gilette Mach 3 Fusion shaver.
For the last 30 years he has used Taylor's brushes but the last 4 have fallen to bits within a year or less with significant bristle shed to the point that they were unusable.
It seems that their quality has fallen in recent years as they used to last much longer than this
To be fair he has had no issues returning them for a new brush free of charge but it seems futile given the repeated failures
So the question is, what is out there of a comparable type but superior durability - medium sized, 100% badger, happy to spend decent cash in the £50ish range, and will spend more if needed but is looking for one that will last a lot longer - any suggestions appreciated thanks :)

Have a look at Simpson brushes would be my suggestion, they are available at all price ranges and have lots of variety of badger hair types and knot sizes, I'm my experience they are a very good quality brush

I would go for a Maseto from MS Shaving on eBay. They're top notch and £50 will get you their 30mm (biggest) brush in Silvertip. Every bit as good as a Shavemac, which would be twice the price.

Edit - just realised you're looking for mid size. They do a 26mm too I believe. I've got the 30.

Personally I use Yaqi synthetics and I sold my Maseto 26mm Silvertip. But if it has to be badger, I'd agree with Dansco that it's top quality. I found the 26mm very dense and I'd probably spring for a 24mm in preference for face lathering.

I think the Simpson Colonel X2L with a best badger knot is a very good all round brush. It works well for bowl or face lathering and with shaving creams or hard soaps. Moreover, it is well priced.

If your thinking of a shavemac consider a brush with a Finest badger knot. I think their Finest badger is excellent value and a great performer. shavemac Finest is greatly under-appricated and overlooked.
