Is it time to get rid of the DE razors

Relax, I have sold perhaps 20 + vintage DE/SE razors and many soaps since last Fall and to be frank I feel better for it. I had too much crap that I wasn't using & not enough to be a serious collector to be frank. I had to decide if I wanted a bathroom or a museum. ;)

I will be using all of my soaps and creams till they are all gone and then restricting myself to 2 or 3. I am a minimalist with almost all of my life, except shaving stuff!

I have just started SE shaving having been a DE shaver for circa 10 years.

While it's early days in DE terms, I am getting noticbly better shaves with the SE (YMMV).

That said, I still love DE shaving and I cannot see that love affair ending. If you have DE and SE why do you need to make a choice - unless space is an issue? For me the variety and the ability to shave with a range of razors safely and comfortably is part of the fun.

For me I also enjoyed learning to shave, properly with a DE after years with the cartridge blades etc. I would miss the DE deep down if I switched to SEs permanently.

That said, it's your shaves, and you're choice.

All the best,

Chris

so i find myself asking do i keep hold of my DE razors - or is it time to move them on.

I remember having some rarities and feel it is a shame they are stored away (moved house 2 years ago and still have not unpacked the DE razors) - so clearly i am not using them. :)

All opinions valid. :)

Hi there,

We all acquire stuff for different reasons, same goes for selling things. If the cash is going towards a goal or something....I could see unloading your shaving crap. Otherwise, why do it. They ain't makin this here stuff no more and prices won't be going lower later.

One terrible thing to me is having non buyers remorse.... I hate that. Knowing later I coulda had something but didn't pull the trigger.

Only thing worse for me is suffering from seller's remorse. Actually having something and not hanging onto it....or them. You do not wanna case of that.

Martin
