July Raffle.

Cost of Halvor's prize was £155 plus a bit of postage, for which I didn't allow in ticket prices, of £13.35 = total £168.35.

This leaves £206.92 which I shall transfer to TSR in a minute for donating to charity. Done.

Thanks for your support of the three raffles. Thanks to @Hone and @Paul Connaught Shaving for the charity prizes. Thanks to the Team for putting it all together.

Well done the three winners!

Looking forward to tomorrow's shave. The only question is, which one to start with?

Thanks, TSR!

Tell us how the shave went with the S2.

Happy to :)

Having had a go with both now, contrary to my expectation, the R2 won this first round by a clear margin. A lot smoother and more forgiving. I am normally a two pass shaver, but given how smooth it all went, I tried a third for the final spitshine. A little sting from the AS afterwards, but not much, and those whiskers were pretty much temporarily eradicated. The S2 was not very much harsher (in fact, in the grander scheme, not much so at all), but it called for more care and attention, it is more aggressive, and it did bite a few times.

I didn't hold variables constant, however, so the comparison will continue. R2 was with P&B and a Polsilver SI (both of which are my #1s in their category), S2 with B&M and Astra SP (which shouldn't be far behind the aforementioned). I also had 24 hrs between shaves with the R2, closer to twelve with the S2. And handles were also different: Kronos R2 and Atlas S2 (which in principle should work counter to my experience, as far as I have understood wrt length of handles and effect on aggression). I just received an S1 plate, which will also enter the competition, by the way.

[I should perhaps add that the raffle prize money covered one of these full razors and then some (thanks to the TSR discount and the fact that I am exempt of VAT, being based outside of EU), and I covered the remainder of the full cost for two razors.]

In closing, I just want to comment on the aftershave I used, which was a sample from Grandstaff in the Red Fern scent. I haven't really landed my opinion of the scent, but based on this first use, performance is top notch. No cooling or burn, so no menthol or alcohol I take it, but very soothing and moisturising.

Again, thanks to everyone and especially to Raffles President Carl.
