June 2018 Acquisitions

@Blademonkey @Far Cry Toff - thank you for keeping the banter good natured. As someone with a foot in both camps, so to speak, may I point out that "Pommy Bastard" is very much a term of endearment on these shores. It relates back to a comedy file from the '70's called "The Adventures of Barry McKenzie", which lampoons a Bogan Aussie visiting the UK. The lead actor and satirist is the brilliant Barry Humphries, who you may know better as Dame Edna Everage.
I note that the Australian public held a referendum in 1999 to decide whether to become a Republic or continue with the existing Head of State - Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Second. The result was categorically the latter. I further note that despite almost continual debate on the subject, the Union Jack still flies proudly on our flag. I am delighted on both counts, as are the majority of Australians.
I am Australian, but with a proud British heritage and citizenship. My Father, a Englishman and a Grenadier Guard, and my Mother, a proud Scot, chose to immigrate to this Country to start a new life and raise a family. They did a brilliant job.
Whilst the current generation rarely refers the the UK as the "Home Country" as did mine, it is still seen as a rite of passage by most young adult Australians to travel to Europe and particularly the UK to connect with their past.
I didn't realise that I was being good-natured, as I pride myself that I have never unknowingly insulted anyone.
