If it's the one I'm looking at now it seems the blade that comes supplied is to be honed followed by a strop, if a Gem blade can be made to fit I don't know.

I don't know how to hone a blade and don't have a strop.

If this is the One they Come Under Many Names..I Used a Hollow Ground Blade in Mine that I Sharpened..They Can Take a Gem Blade but they Don't Shave Well with them..Very Poorly in My Opinion..If You Want a Blade Honed PM Me..I Might Even have a Blade Laying Around..They are Lovely Shavers with a Hollow Ground Blade.

They will indeed take a GEM blade as will most of these old razors designed for hollow ground blades but as Billy has said the shave with all of them using a GEM blade is rough as hell, you can try all sorts of shims etc but they just don't work the angles are just wrong. It's a hollow ground blade or nothing I'm afraid if you want a good shave , and these old razors are quite as capable of giving as great a shave as any other razor with a well prepared hollow ground blade.
