looking for an alternative 3-blade "cheaper" to gillette / wilkinson sword ...

I'm fine with Matrix 3 meantime, prefer 3 blade razors as a general rule.

I've clocked the Triflexxx as own brand in the usual supermarkets, and the Magnum M5 is in Aldi as "Lacura" brand I believe.

I'm not familiar with Caliber 3 and 5, GT 5 and 6 and EasyFit3, who retails these in the UK ?

Is there an "Idiot's Guide" for pilgrims like me ?

The EF3 appears to be cartridge only to fit Mach 3 - does it come as a complete product?

The Caliber 3 is available in Boots, Superdrug and Morrison's.The Caliber 5 is available in Boots, Superdrug and Asda. The GT5 is only available in Tesco, this is sold in Japan as the Schick Quattro 5. The GT6 is only available in Australia at Aldi.

All of the Caliber and GT carts fit the Quattro handle. The Caliber 5 Core Motion Technology handle is available in Germany from Balea and in France by Wilkinson Sword as a Quattro Titanium. This is Edgewell's version of the Flexball. QShave sell it on AliExpress.

The EasyFit3 is available at Tesco, Wilko and Asda. It fits it own handle which resembles the Matrix or the Gillette Mach3. It uses an adapter similar to the Hydro Connect. Remove this and it's a Hydro cart. In fact the cart is the Hydro3 mk1.

Thanks Sabre - 'er indoors had me on a Tesco grocery run this morning, I saw the GT5 which sells as Tesco Pro Formula For Men Diamond 5 Blade........................ if I'm not mistaken.

I also had a look at the Tesco Advance Performance Triple Blade - cartridge packs indicate compatibility with Mach 3 handle.

The Caliber 3 is available in Boots, Superdrug and Morrison's.The Caliber 5 is available in Boots, Superdrug and Asda.

Do the Caliber 3 and 5 each use the same handle ? Could you please flag up a link to either in any of these stores, as I'm not familiar with them.

Thanks again.

All de and Fusion razors will cause me irritation when I get the least bit careless with them. My most comfortable shaves come from genuine Gillette, Mach3, cartridges. I have been able to pick them off of ebay for about $1.10 ea. Combined with a Razorpit that makes the Mach3 system pretty affordable.
Best regards - Ron

I wouldn't say that it's 'cheaper' though.

If cost is a concern and yet a cartridge system a must, the Trac II with third-party blades from Dorco, Personna etc is probably a better bet.
I think the MR3 has the nicest handle of F-System range, its a shame Feather have discontinued these & the blades. The F3 (Samrai Edge) are a good replacement but not the same as the MR3.
