March 2017 Acquisitions

I'm going to be spoilt for choice tomorrow!

This week has been like a late (or should that be early) Christmas.

I've really enjoyed the Rockwell 6s, I used base plate #4, and the shave was very smooth and close with a new perma sharp blade. I also really like the industrial aesthetic of the razor. It's my first stainless steel razor, and I love the weight of it.

I also had a very good shave with the Fatip grande, having regularly used the R41, the Fatip was a pleasure to use. Very smooth and great results with a new astra sp blade - even if the build quality is not great. I think this will also be my travel razor.

The Razorock 400 plissoft is a fantastic brush for the price, I didn't find the handle as comfortable as I hoped, but it whipped up a great lather in no time at all. Fantastic for bowl lathering.

I haven't had a chance to use the Thayers or B&M soap yet, but the packaging on the B&M is knockout with the metallic sticker. If it shaves as good as it looks, I'll be very happy.

Definitely the best smelling box I have ever received has come from Martin De Candre.

I've never seen a box so stuffed full of packing peanuts for a single shave soap, the soap was literally swimming in a sea of the stuff. The soap is expensive, but at least they don't take half measures with their packaging!

I haven't had a chance to use the soap yet, I'm really looking forward to my shave tomorrow.

They also included a free sample of their fougere hand soap that smells divine (currently my whole bathroom is engulfed by the smell of it!).

Roll on tomorrow morning! :D

Hi. First post to the forum besides my introduction. These are a few bits I bought this month.

March Acquisitions.jpg

The Aristocrat Jnr is fantastic. They don't make them like they used to. :) I will try a vintage Gillette Blue Blade this Saturday and Sunday to experience a 50's/60's shave. The shaving scuttle is from Steve Woodhead Ceramics. I have used it twice and is great. The Razorock Plissoft is from Shaving Station and my first synthetic. Feels very soft so looking forward to using it. Last but not least I spotted the Grevinnans Rum Gentlemans Shaving Soap from Sweden also at Shaving Station. I love Sweden so thought I should try it out. Am planning to post a review of it Sunday after I've used it a couple of times.

I'm on a roll, a Timeless Razor with a scolloped cap and both a open comb and safety bar heads attached to a dimpled handle. I promised myself this razor after the debacle of Wolfman Razor wait-list (which I refuse to do business with).
The set arrived very quickly and paid the vast customs duty to release it from gaol, I've used the razor a number of times and it is superlative as other well known You-Tubers state.
