Mild Razors

I'll just add an obvious advice of getting the Rockwell 6S. For me it's by far the smoothest razor, even at higher settings. Supposedly it's comparable to Feather ASD2 at setting #2, and there's always that #1 setting.

I've been looking at the Rockwell and wondered if anyone would recommend it. What other razors do you have and how does it compare?

I did a review some time ago: http://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/com.../rockwell-6s-my-review-and-impressions.41298/

Mild razors I've used are iKon X3, Fatip Gentile, Baby Smooth, EJ 89, Standard, Gillette Slim etc. The Rockwell trumps them all, it's super smooth and even on higher settings provides a more comfortable shave by a wide margin.
The only other that I could recommend alongside the Rockwell would be the Standard as I have a soft spot for it and sometimes prefer lighter razor. The Baby smooth is good too, but I've had it for mere 10 days.

The Rockwell 6S stainless is a superb razor, but, if you're looking for something mild, you probably don't want 6 settings. However, the chrome Rockwell 2C is available with the 1/3 baseplate only (they describe it as being "Perfect for price-conscious beginners"!).
The other razor I would consider is the Standard, which I think is neither mild nor aggressive; just efficient.

Great minds think alike, but some of us type faster than others!

Yup, the Rockwell 6C or 2C is supposed to be exactly the same as 6S performance wise and therefor a more affordable option.

Indeed :D

Does it have to be DE? My driver is the Krona which I think to me at list is about 4 on a Gillette adjustable. I had a sticky and if you like the same mildness level I'd go with the Wilkinson Classic or a left of field a Gillette Contour or Atra both from personal experience.

The contour gives me the most efficient vs mild equilibrium, saying that a Krona is more efficient but not as mild so I use it daily.

I've read through the Rockwell review and impressions - cracking write up! Thanks for taking the time to do it, and also to everyone who contributed to the Hone pass around. I'm totally stuck between them at the moment!!

I do want it to be DE. I've got a Contour headed custom razor and I struggle to get on with the cartridges - if I was going back to them, I'd stick with a Sensor 3 (which I've found works well enough). Thank you for the suggestion though - I have picked up a Wilko Classic on the way home tonight and will give it a go tomorrow. The great thing with that is that it still leaves plenty of budget for a bit of luxury!
