Mixed Bristle Brushes

Hi,
Because I've never used one I've been contemplating buying a mixed Bristle Brush, but can't seem to get my head around any advantage.
I'm not a fan of surf and turf and one of the worst meals I've ever had was a Macaroni Madras, so maybe I'm heading down the wrong path.
Any recommendations? Horse and Badger? Boar and Badger? Particular make - model?

Vulfix 404 is the industry standard... I think?

Never used one either but I gather they are useful for offering a "best of both worlds" at an extremely budget price.

I can fully recommend the 404. Yea, best of both worlds; good backbone for face lathering and not too scratchy..cheap as chips on Amazon too. The only brush I use.

Agree with above, Vulfix 404 is a superb brush with mixed bristles. If you want something smaller the Omega 11047 'Mixed Midget' is a good choice too

This is the concept I'm struggling with.
I was thinking a Horse and Badger might mean the Horse Bristle didn't need combing as much.

I have an omega 11047, primarily intended for travelling because of its small size.
The knot is terrific, nice scrub & broken-in feels great. Not expensive either, circa £10-ish.

I probably use my Vulfix 404 about 90% of the time great compact brush.

Another vote for the 404 here. The bristles go very soft after a bit of use. I have a dozen or so brushes but I should have been more patient and stuck with this. Great brush.

I must get one of these. I'll be in Guernsey in May and I'll see if I can get one there where there is no VAT. Failing that I'll buy one in Jolly Old when I'm there later in May.
