Evening all.
After coming across a few old models in the loft I have decided to have another go as I remember it being a relaxing way to kill a few hours.
After a look online a lot has changed in the 20 odd years since I last made one.
Anyone else into model making? Got any good resources or tips you can pass on?

Every year around this time you see an ad on telly, inviting you to build a wonderful model, collecting a part each week/month. Sometimes it's a replica of the Ark Royal or a Spitfire. This year it's a Routemaster bus. It actually looks really good, with ringing bell and everything! And the first issue costs only £1.99. But, hang on! If you're quick, you'll see that the cost for following installments is £8.99. And the whole project takes 130 issues - the first, plus a further 129. By my reckoning, that brings the cost of the finished model (presuming you don't manage to cock up a part, and have to re-order) to the princely sum of £1161.70! WTF? I wouldn't be surprised if you could buy an actual decommissioned Routemaster for less than that!
