It really is a joy to use a proper lather catcher - one which the blade does not clog and the scroll collects the lather. One pass, no rinsing. Lovely. It comes from an era when chaps did not have running water to shave with ... long gone and utterly pointless today, but indeed lovely to use.

Yes, I'd be interested ... to see the design.

When I look through Waits' Compendium, I see so many wonderful designs.

Here's hoping ...

... yet fearing disappointment yet again.
 
I would rather like to see a modern version of the Star Kampfe Bros. Lather Catcher with long handle than the GEM.

That is the only true lather catcher that I've kept ...

Sure, I have GEM Juniors and 1914s (Little Lather Catchers), but that's the one true lather catcher I have.

One that got away was a BHV, a French one which I rather regret letting go.
